X Games Summer 2016: Logic, Blink 182, G-Eazy, All Time Low Headline In Austin

The 2016 summer X Games are going to be held in Austin, Texas, with Logic, All Time Low, G-Eazy and Blink-182 headlining, reports Rolling Stone. This will be the third consecutive year in a row that the festival has taken place in Austin.

Rappers G-Eazy and Logic will be performing Friday, June 3, with Blink-182 and All Time Low performing the next day, Saturday, June 4. The extreme sports festival itself begins Thursday, June 2, lasting through June 5 at the Circuit of the Americas. The musical performances will take place at the Austin360 Amphitheater.

Maryland rapper Logic recently released his sophomore studio album, The Incredible True Story, in November of 2015. Blink-182 haven’t released an album since their 2011 comeback project, Neighborhoods. This was before member Tom separated himself from the group for a second time.

The X Games, both in their winter and summer events, have been able to pull in bigger musical performers with each passing year. Earlier this year in January, the X Games in Aspen, Colorado, featured hip-hop legend Nas and rap duo Run the Jewels (Killer Mike and El-P), as well as Deadmau5 all leading the musical lineup. The 2015 summer X Games featured the likes of Talib Kweli, Metallica, Kid Ink, Deltron 3030, and Nicki Minaj.

X Games 2016 will be spending its last year in Austin, with a new location set for 2017 and 2018.

“We’ve been honored to call Austin home of the X Games since 2014 and are proud to have run world-class competitions for athletes, hosted amazing musicians for our fans and sponsors together with the Circuit of The Americas,” Tim Reed, X Games VP said. “We thank COTA, the City of Austin and State of Texas for their support, and look forward to an amazing final X Games Austin event this June. Looking to the future, we’re enthusiastic to identify the next X Games host city and continuing to improve and bring the franchise to new locations and fans.”

Any city in the United States that can meet the requirements of the X Games can locally host the next event. Any cities who may be interested can learn more at http://www.xgames.com/bid.
