‘Hannah Montana’ Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary, Miley Cyrus And Co-Stars Reminisce On Friendships And Success

It has been 10 years since the very first episode of Hannah Montana premiered on the Disney Channel, and it is still one of the best kid’s shows ever. It also brought actress/singer Miley Cyrus into the public eye and she still remains a household name, even if she is not the same young Miley Stewart that fans had wanted to be like.

Those fans are now a few years older, but they still have their memories of Miley Stewart trying to have “the best of both worlds” by leading two different lives as a regular girl and as a huge pop star named Hanna Montana. From the first episode on, young girls, and even guys, were intrigued by the whole concept of this Disney creation. After all, what kid doesn’t dream of making it huge and still keeping their school friends?

According to GossipCop, social media has been going crazy with this fan-favorite show turning 10. The hashtag of #10YearsOfHannahMontana has been trending, and many have been posting their favorite memories using photos of Miley Cyrus, her family, and her two best friends.

Miley Cyrus herself even took to her Instagram account to reflect on the years since the show aired. Despite the fact that she had sort of dissed the Disney Channel, and pretty much her whole Hannah Montana experience, the 23-year-old singer said that she is indeed grateful because if it weren’t for the series, she may not be where she is today.

“Even though I feel disconnected to who I was at that time I will always feel eternally grateful for the opportunity and platform I was given… None of it would have been possible without every single person who ever contributed to the series… From regulars, to special guests (and there were many magical ones @dollyparton????) to creators, crew, directors… I am where I am because of loyal fans that I am thankful for and of course love dearly all the new angels who support me now… Even though HM is chopped up into little tiny pieces and buried in my backyard she will always hold a very special place in my heart!”

Cyrus also sent out her love to all of her costars that she still adores. That includes her on screen brother, Jason Earles (Jackson), as well as her two BBFs on the show, Emily Osment (Lilly) and Mitchel Musso (Oliver). She mentioned how much chemistry they all had when they were going through the Hannah Montana auditions.

Miley encouraged everyone to celebrate this 10-year anniversary by posting photos. She also encouraged fans of the show to play a drinking game by doing shots every time Hannah’s name is mentioned, which is how Miley Cyrus rolls these days.

Another young actor from the Disney Channel series also got nostalgic about the decade-old series. Cody Linley was not as regular as the other actors, but he played quite an important part of the character of Miley Stewart growing up. He played the role of the star’s on-again/off-again boyfriend, Jake Ryan. Remember their first kiss? Yes, that was quite a big deal back then. Fans had waited for that moment since the two of them got together.

He dished to MTV on what it was like on set with Miley Cyrus and the rest of the Hannah Montana gang. Linley, now 26, gave praise to his on screen girlfriend for making his time on the show a lot of fun and for making him laugh. What does he think of his former co-star now?

“Miley’s success has continued to grow, so I’m proud of her and her work ethic and to have been a part of something that made an impact.”

Although he does not hang around with Miley all that much anymore, he says that he is completely grateful to her and the Disney show for getting his name out and for being so successful. The whole cast were very close and he said he will never forget the experience.

Emily Osment took to her Instagram account as well to reflect on what 14-year-olds were all about back 10 years ago. It was a sweet tribute to add to the Hannah Montana anniversary celebration.
