Kandi Burruss Defends Her Team After Accusations They Are Desperate For TV Time

Kandi Burruss is slowly learning that money is the root of all evil, especially when it comes to the Real Housewives of Atlanta friendships. Kandi helped Kim Zolciak get her one-hit wonder, Don’t Be Tardy For The Party, to the market, but she only made a few thousand dollars, where Kim made close to $100,000. Burruss revealed that she had no plans of ever doing any favors for the Real Housewives stars again, as she didn’t want money to come in between her and some friends. Sadly, this is exactly what happened with Phaedra Parks.

According to a new report, Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, really wanted to help Phaedra with her workout video that she filmed while pregnant. However, they weren’t paid for their help, so they kept the video in their possession. Parks has complained about how Kandi and Todd acted about the whole thing, but Todd has explained on various occasions that he just wanted to get paid for his work. And sadly, this entire money fiasco took a toll on their friendship.

“I get frustrated having these conversations in front of everyone. I do care about our friendship. That’s why I’m emotional about it. And because I care, I still won’t say certain things that would make her look bad. Even though I feel like I’ve been made to look like the bad guy. I’m trying not to be that “mad day” person that I’ve talked about in the past, meaning a person who was once your friend that starts telling your secrets when they’re mad,” Kandi reveals about Phaedra’s behavior, adding, “I don’t like when other people do that, so I don’t want to be like that. The whole thing is just frustrating knowing that there is only so much I can say to defend myself publicly.”

It is clear that Kandi Burruss is hurt by the way Phaedra has decided to handle this entire situation. And she was even more hurt when Phaedra was talking to Porsha Williams about the ordeal, which was interrupted by Don Juan. Don works for Kandi and he was upset to hear that Kandi’s friends were talking about the money behind her back.

So he went up to the ladies and defended his friend. While Burruss saw this as an honorable act, Phaedra saw it as Don Juan wanting more air time. She accused him of starting drama to get more attention on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. But Kandi hints that he would have acted on her behavior, even if the cameras were not around.

“I feel like they are full of s**t about Don Juan and Carmon. When we’re on TV and they say something you don’t like, you want to treat them like the help or say they’re just my employees. But when we’ve all hung out numerous times, they were all good. That would be like me treating Porsha’s sister like the help since she’s her assistant,” Kandi Burruss explains, putting it in perspective. And it is interesting that the other ladies have acted normal around Don Juan before.

“No, I’m not blood related to Don and Carmon, but we are like family and we have each other’s back like family as well. So if somebody is in front of my video release party telling lies about my husband or talking sh– about the video, then I would expect the people who care about me would speak up and check them. Which is what happened, and I do not have a problem with it,” Burruss explains of her relationships with her employees. Don Juan and Carmon have been around for years, as they have been with Kandi the day The Real Housewives of Atlanta entered her life.
