Walt Disney World Announces Dates For Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2016

It has been a big few days for Walt Disney World as they are making big announcement after big announcement. First, the late-night Disney After Hours event was introduced. On Wednesday afternoon, Disney also unveiled the dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party later this year. Now, they’ve revealed the dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party as well, and that allows for guests to get on with their plans.

After the Disney Parks Blog revealed the dates for the Halloween parties at Magic Kingdom, it was expected that the Christmas party dates would be coming out soon too. While there wasn’t a huge announcement as of yet, one is likely coming in the next day or so.

Still, Disney has updated the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party page on their official site, and it now lists the dates for 2016. Around 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, no dates were showing, but now they are there for all to see.

The official dates for the Christmas parties are as follows:

  • November: 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, 27 and 29
  • December: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18 and 22

Right now, there is a rather generic description for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, and it gives very little info as to what exactly goes on.

“When Mickey celebrates the season, Magic Kingdom park lights up with excitement for Guests of all ages. Cinderella Castle shimmers. Joyful music fills the air. Disney Characters don their most festive attire. Favorite attractions take on a holiday theme. And enchanting surprises lie around almost every turn!”

In past years, there were a lot of fun things taking place at the party including the lighting of Cinderella Castle in Christmas lights. The last two holiday seasons, it was done by Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen in what was officially called “A Frozen Holiday Wish.”

Other fun happenings are Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, character dance parties, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, and Holiday Wishes – Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks.

It’s not known which of those will be returning for 2016, but many are expected to be in place as they are staples of the Christmas parties.

As of now, the official ticket prices and sale date for tickets is not yet known. In years past, the tickets for both the Christmas party and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party go on sale sometime in April, and that is expected again this year.

November will have nine dates for the Christmas party as there will be none during the week of Thanksgiving. December has a few more with 12 set dates for the Christmas party, but it does end a few days before Christmas itself.

One of the best things about Christmas at Disney is that all four theme parks and the resort hotels all decorate and have fun things for the holidays. Yes, only Magic Kingdom has the party, but there are numerous activities and enjoyable times to be had all around Walt Disney World.

Please note that dates are always subject to change, and Disney can switch things up at times, but that is rare. It is very likely that these dates for Mickey’s Very Christmas Party are set in place. The good thing is that tickets aren’t for sale yet, so by the time they are available, the dates will be set in stone.

Mickey’s Very Christmas Party is going to once again fill Magic Kingdom with the sights, sounds, and smells of the holiday. Walt Disney World is already preparing for the fall and winter holidays before summer even gets here, but it’s never too early to prepare and be ready.
