‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Jaime & Cersei Relationship To Get Even Darker In Season 6

Game of Thrones is one of the best shows on television and its diverse and intriguing characters are a big reason why. With Season 6 right around the corner, everyone wants to know what’s in store for Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and other prominent houses.

It should be quite the season for all of the major players on Game of Thrones, but the Lannister family will have one of the most interesting storylines.

Actress Lena Headey recently revealed that her character Cersei Lannister will have a roller coaster of a season. As many Game of Thrones fans know, Cersei and her brother Jaime Lannister have a very strange relationship. The two are not only siblings but lovers and have claimed to be in love with one another on multiple occasions. In fact, it’s been revealed throughout the course of the show that Cersei’s three children were actually fathered by her brother Jaime.

In Season 6 of Game of Thrones, it seems that Cersei and Jaime will have a lot of screen time together as they’ll be going through a lot of drama. Cersei is fresh out of her imprisonment by the High Sparrow, who kept her prisoner until she admitted to her sins of infidelity and incest. She was then publicly humiliated and forced to do the walk of shame back to the castle. It will be in Season 6 that Cersei and Jaime reunite since he went to Dorn for the finale episodes of the previous season to get their daughter Myrcella, who tragically died on the way home.

Cersei and Jamie will not only be forced to mourn the death of their daughter together, but also fight against the High Sparrow and his group of religious followers to exact their revenge. Cersei will also likely have some interesting moments with her last surviving child, King Tommen, who is much different than his older brother when it comes to ruling the Seven Kingdoms.

“It’s probably her most interesting season,” Lena Headey told EW about her Game of Thrones character. “She really has nothing to lose and she has everything to gain from a horrible position she finds herself in. Her relationship with Jaime is at an all-time weird level. It’s juicy, and it’s so f**king dark.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the Game of Thrones characters will find themselves in some interesting situations. As many viewers know Jon Snow is believed dead, but there are many who think he’ll be brought back to life by some mystical power before the season is over, and if he returns he’ll likely have some heavy words for the Night’s Watch, who plotted against Jon in order to murder him.

Arya Stark also left off Season 5 in a big way. As an apprentice to the man of many faces, it seems she angered her mentor when she stole a face in order to kill one of her enemies. The last Game of Thrones fans saw her she had gone blind, seemingly as punishment for her betrayal.

In addition to the crazy story lines, a huge battle will also be brewing. Execs have already revealed that they believe Season 6 of Game of Thrones will be the best yet, and that there is one epic battle scene on the way.

“It’s definitely the biggest [action sequence yet],” writer/producer Bryan Cogman said. “We’ve always wanted to get to a place – story-wise and budget-wise and time-wise and resource-wise – where we would be able to do a proper battle, with one army on one side, one army on another side.”

Everyone is dying to find out what Game of Thrones Season 6 will bring and the wait is nearly over. The show returns to HBO on April 24.
