Gwen Stefani Proposed To Blake Shelton — And He Said ‘Yes!’ [Report]

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are reportedly engaged. According to a new report, 46-year-old Gwen Stefani popped the question to her boyfriend, Shelton, 39, and he said, “Yes!”

Following nearly five months of dating, the couple, who began dating while starring on The Voice Season 9, are reportedly set to tie the knot, and Life & Style magazine recently shared details from Gwen Stefani’s surprise proposal.

“He was in shock,” a source told Life & Style magazine, according to a report by Hollywood Life on March 23.

The magazine source revealed Gwen Stefani’s proposal came during a romantic dinner, which she prepared for her man at her Los Angeles home.

“[Gwen Stefani] had been talking to friends about reversing roles and popping the question to Blake for weeks now, but she was still nervous,” the source alleged.

Gwen Stefani’s romance with Shelton came just months after both parties announced their divorces. In July 2015, Shelton parted ways with Miranda Lambert after four years of marriage, and just weeks later, Gwen Stefani announced she and Gavin Rossdale had ended their marriage after 13 years and three children.

Currently, as her divorce proceedings continue, Gwen Stefani is technically married to Rossdale, but apparently, that hasn’t stopped her from taking the next step in her relationship with Shelton.

“[Blake] is so glad [Gwen Stefani] surprised him — that’s what he loves about her!” the insider says. “Blake has done some ‘almost’ proposals since they started dating last year. They have had long, romantic walks on their trips to Oklahoma, and they have talked a lot about marriage, but there hadn’t been a formal proposal until now.”

Gwen Stefani and Shelton have become extremely close in the months since their relationship began, and Shelton is often seen spending time with the former No Doubt singer and her three boys, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2. The couple has also visited one another’s hometowns, and according to a Radar Online report, Gwen Stefani met Shelton’s family months ago.

Marilyn Philips, a long-time Shelton family friend told the outlet that Shelton took Gwen Stefani to meet his mother, Dorothy, and step-dad, Mike Shackleford, in December 2015.

“I think when Blake introduced her to the family here it’s the most country she’s ever been,” Phillips said. “She’ll have to get used to it. He took her to all the local joints… I think it’s great he’s dating Gwen. They say opposites attract and this is a perfect example. Blake and [Gwen Stefani] are essentially from two different worlds so it must be exciting for them.”

Justin Perry, who manages Atwoods Ranch and Home in Madill, also weighed in on Gwen Stefani, claiming she was far more sociable that his ex-wife, Lambert, after Stefani posed for photos at his store.

“Whenever Miranda would come in she wouldn’t want to take any pictures with us. [Miranda’s] a very cold person, very stuck up, you know? She would try to act like a bigger celebrity than him,” Perry explained.

After Shelton introduced Gwen Stefani to his family, she reportedly returned the favor days later, and apparently, after meeting Stefani’s father, Shelton has stuck up a relationship with the gentleman.

“Blake helped [Gwen Stefani]’s dad around the house,” a source told People Magazine in December. “They seemed very friendly and like they were getting along great.”
