Yolanda Hadid has been very open and honest about her Lyme disease struggles. She is very open about how she couldn’t think, write, or read for a long time. Hadid has filed for divorce from David Foster, as the disease simply took over, and she has tried to get support from her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars for a few years. While some of the ladies have been supportive of Yolanda, others have questioned her illness completely.
According to a new Bravo report, Yolanda Hadid is now speaking out about an episode of the show that gave her some vindication. Hadid decided to invite some of the ladies to a Lyme gala, where she was the keynote speaker. And it sounds like Kyle Richards was completely surprised and emotional after hearing about how some people struggled with the disease.
“Watching tonight’s episode brought tears back to my eyes. Seeing my children, my mom and friends show up to support me, speak for me and listen for me meant more than words can ever say. We who suffer from chronic Lyme can only ask for our loved ones to try to understand and be compassionate about this invisible disease. Thank god I am blessed with a small circle that has guided me through these years and never let go. The Global Lyme Alliance gala was a huge success. Together we raised over $3 million dollars that evening for research, proper diagnostics, and to one day find a cure!” Yolanda Hadid revealed about the event.
While the episode was airing, Yolanda shared pictures from the event, including herself on the red carpet with her children. It was during this gala that Hadid revealed that two of her three children had been diagnosed with Lyme disease as well. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers already knew this information, as they heard Hadid tell Kyle Richards this information during a previous episode.
“Thank you to my co-hosts Allie Hilfiger and Thalia who have also dedicated so much of their lives to educating others about Lyme disease. My gratitude is eternal, and we are proof that it takes a village to make the change we wish to see in this world. Let’s continue to unite and create communities that support one another,” Hadid revealed, sharing the speech that she wrote for the gala night.
It sounds like Yolanda would rather focus on the positive experiences and connections she made on this episode of the show than the gossip that continued amongst her co-stars. Her co-stars have continued to question her Lyme disease journey, but it sounds like some of the ladies are changing their minds after attending the gala.
“Rather than writing a blog on tonight’s episode and rehash negativity, I will let the truth find its way!” Yolanda revealed in her blog.
Yolanda does have some supporters. Her Instagram often fills up with supportive messages from people who believe her health journey. But Brandi Glanville has also been a huge support for Hadid, as the two have continued their friendship despite Brandi leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills behind.
“I was more than surprised–I was actually shocked when Yo told me about the Munchausen’s accusations. Yolanda has been fighting this illness for years, and there has never been a question that she could possibly not be sick–that is until both Kim and myself left this group,” Brandi revealed in her blog.
One can imagine that she isn’t happy that her former co-stars are continuing to attack her friend.
What do you think of Yolanda Hadid’s decision to skip the negativity in her blog? Do you think the truth will come out?
