‘Arrow’ Season 4 Spoilers — Photos From The Cemetery Reveal Who Is Dead In The Flash-Forward

Have the latest images out of the Arrow camp revealed who will be in the grave at the end of the season? If you’re judging by who is and who isn’t in the photos, then you believe it’s no longer a mystery.

According to Comic Book, the person who will be meeting their maker in Season 4 of Arrow is none other than Captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne).

Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), John Diggle (David Ramsey), Thea Queen (Willa Holland), and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) can all be accounted for in the images, however, Captain Lance is not.

It should be noted that while all the aforementioned characters can be seen in the images and were also seen arriving on the set for the funeral, Paul Blackthorne was also seen on set, with and without hair! Check out all the images here.

Some fans believe that Blackthorne’s different appearance’s is meant to throw fans off from discovering the show’s well-guarded secret. But when actress Madison McLaughlin was spotted on set, fan speculation jumped on the theory that some sort of flashback or hallucination was occurring between Captain Lance and a young Laurel (McLaughlin).

Another reason for the Lance speculation is the fact the Captain has close enough ties to all of Team Arrow members to make it a significant loss without destroying any major storylines. He’s Laurel’s father, Olivier has known him forever it seems like, and he recently showed a more human side of himself involving Felicity’s mother, Donna.

Design and Trend also reveals that other members of Team Arrow have their own subplots that they are trying to figure out, making them unlikely candidates. Thea Queen has the effects of the Lazarus Pit she’s dealing with. Laurel and Diggle both just recently came into their own as superheroes.

Also at the funeral scene is Captain Lance’s ex-wife, Alex Kingston, which further supports that Captain Lance will be the one dying in the flash-forward scene — or does it?

The International Business Times points out that Felicity’s mother, Donna Smoak, is also absent from the photos, while more images captured from the funeral set posted via Just Jared show Blackthorne and Cassidy walking and laughing together.

While speculation grows about who is in the grave, it should be noted that there are other leading theories that have a good base of support besides Captain Lance.

One such theory was Oliver’s secret son, William. This was one of the leading theories before William was kidnapped by Damien Darhk then successfully rescued by Team Arrow with the help of Vixen. Since then it seems unlikely that the show would go through all the trouble of having him kidnapped, then rescued just to kill him off a few episodes later.

Also on the chopping block is fan favorite Roy Harper. Since Harper is both a fan favorite and very close to every member of Team Arrow and very dispensable given the fact that he exited the show at the end of last season, killing him off wouldn’t be that difficult in terms of future storylines. However, those opposing this theory think that if the show wanted him dead, they would’ve killed him at the end of last season when he made his exit. Why bring him back at the end of this season just to kill him?

Another theory mentioned is the death of Donna Smoak. This theory makes sense, given the fact that it’s Felicity that seems to be shaken the most by the funeral. Actress Emily Rickards also added to the hype by saying that the person in the grave is someone very close to Felicity. Of course, since Felicity is so lovable, that means it could be anybody!

Arrow Season 4 is scheduled to return on March 23, 2016, on The CW. Check out a preview below.
