Jessa Duggar Reveals Why She Hasn’t Always Gotten Along With Sister Jana

Jessa Duggar Seewald recently revealed that she and sister Jana haven’t always gotten along, and she says it’s because Jana has such a big, strong personality.

The sisters first talked about their feud in their 2014 memoir, but they also brought it up on a recent episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, with Jessa expanding upon why it was difficult for them to get along when they were younger. The reality star says that Jana used to take control when she was with her younger siblings, and while Jessa went along with it for years, after a while she began to get a little rebellious, much like one would with an overbearing parent.

“She would get all of us girls that were younger than her and sit us down and say, ‘I’m going to fix your hair. I’m picking out your outfits. Here’s what we’re going to do today.’ I think as I started to get a little bit older, I also had a very strong personality so I would sometimes protest the ideas that she had. She’d be like we’re going to do this, and I’d be like, ‘No we’re not,'” Jessa said.

The sisters have matured quite a bit, however, and both have learned how to get along with one another over the years.

“We clashed heads a little bit when we were younger; but now that we’re older, we work together well,” Jessa said.

Jana has earned a reputation with fans of the Duggar family for being the older sister who takes care of everyone else, but she says that’s not all she does. While she admits she prefers to be out of the spotlight some of her siblings stay in, she does have other interests besides cooking, cleaning, and taking care of children.

“I don’t always like to be on the forefront, but I enjoy the behind-the-scenes and working on different projects. I don’t only cook and take care of babies. Surprise!” Jana said.

While the world is seemingly obsessed with Jana’s sisters and their new married lives, the 26-year-old says she just hasn’t found the right one.

“Maybe, you know, I’ll meet the one and get married and have kids and stuff. There have been different guys who’ve come along and asked. But they haven’t been the right one, and so it’s just one of those things,” Jana said. “I’m not just out to get married to the first one that comes along. I mean, sometimes it can be tempting, in those moments where your siblings that are married and have little ones are going out on dates and doing their things.”

Meanwhile, Jill and Jessa are enjoying being married moms. The sisters are active on social media and often share photos and videos of their sons.

Jessa and husband Ben aren’t satisfied with just one child, although Jessa said while she was pregnant that she won’t follow in her mother Michelle’s footsteps and have 19 kids. Rather, the couple wants to adopt, and while they will start the process here in the states, they also hope to adopt a child from another country.

“Usually, when your baby reaches about nine months old, that’s when they ask you to come back and start your paperwork and everything,” Jessa said on the most recent episode of Counting On.

Jill, meanwhile, has been sharing photos from the mission trips she and husband Derick have taken recently in Central America. The couple were visited by several members of the Duggar family in the most recent episode of Counting On, when they packed up several bags full of food and supplies to pass out in the areas Jill and Derick were working in.
