Corey Simms Reacts To Custody Win Over ‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer

Corey Simms filed for full custody of his 6-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah, in 2014 following rumors of Leah Messer’s alleged drug use, and in October 2015, he was awarded primary custody of their daughters.

On next week’s episode of Teen Mom 2, Corey Simms will be seen meeting with his lawyer, Rusty Webb, to discuss the outcome of his latest court hearing, and during their chat, he learns that he received “virtually everything” he asked for.

Right away, Corey Simms tears up and explains to Webb that he and wife Miranda “understood that we wouldn’t really have a fun time – this is the hard time.”

Corey Simms was awarded weekdays with his daughters, requiring him to transport them to and from school every day aside from Friday, while Messer was left with three weekends out of the month.

“But this is what’s going to build them to be a mature adult that’s going to succeed in life and want to go places. I want them to talk about college and what they want to do, that’s what I want. So this is why I’m glad this went their way,” Corey Simms continued, according to a report by People Magazine on March 22.

As Corey Simms wiped tears away from his face, he told his lawyer, “It’s amazing. We’ve fought for so long. I mean, it’s hard to hold back the emotions. I really didn’t expect it, you know? But for the girls’ sake, I’m tickled pink that it happened.”

During Monday’s episode of Teen Mom 2, Messer was seen struggling to get out of bed and failing to provide her children with breakfast before leaving and heading to school. In response, her and Corey Simms’ 6-year-old daughter, Aleeah, expressed her frustration.

“I don’t trust you. Take me back home. You’re always worrying about everything else except for going to pick us up and giving us lunch. I’m cold and I don’t have nothing to eat. You never get us us up for breakfast. Daddy and Miranda does,” the child told Messer.

As People Magazine reported, Messer struggled with “prescription pill addiction” and entered rehab for anxiety and depression in May of last year. However, rather than admit to her problem, which both Corey Simms and her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, have openly discussed, Messer has chosen to denial all accusations, claiming she suffers from a sleeping disorder.

During the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Corey Simms and Jeremy Calvert were seen meeting a local restaurant to discuss the issues Messer had been keeping secret. And while Messer later alleged their conversation was staged, and claimed her second husband hated Corey Simms, neither party confirmed any such thing, and just last weekend, Corey Simms and Calvert were seen hanging out in New York City with Miranda and Calvert’s girlfriend, Brooke Wehr.

Corey Simms and his co-stars were in the Big Apple for several days to film the after shows, the reunion and a Dads special for Teen Mom 2, which will all air later this year on MTV.

In other Corey Simms news, a recent report by Radar Online claimed he and his wife, Miranda, had taken a step back from filming after MTV chose to cover Messer’s addiction issues and portray them as villains, rather than reveal the truth.
