Carrie Underwood is gushing over husband Mike Fisher’s huge hockey milestone.
Alongside the couple’s 1-year-old son, Isaiah, Underwood was on hand at Nashville’s Bridgestone arena on March 21 to celebrate her husband’s milestone 1,000th game playing in the National Hockey League, where Carrie just couldn’t seem to stop gushing over her handsome husband.
According to the Tennessean, Fisher received a silver hockey stick as well as a Tiffany crystal, both of which were presents from the NHL, at the big Nashville ceremony. The site is also reporting that The Predators Foundation donated $5,000 to the charity Room in the Inn, a local homeless charity that Mike and Carrie support, in Fisher’s name.
Carrie and Mike, who married in 2010, then shared a sweet kiss on the ice after Mike was honored for his huge accomplishment. Underwood also praised her husband in a pre-taped video.
Carrie also tweeted out a link to an eight-minute-long video following the ceremony, which featured country stars Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, and Dierks Bentley, where Underwood sweetly congratulated Fisher for his impressive sporting achievement.
“I’m so proud of you for so many reasons,” Carrie told Mike in the pre-taped video posted on her Twitter page on March 21. “I know how hard you work at everything you do and how much dedication you have towards hockey and towards this team.”
“I just think you’re the best,” Carrie continued to her husband in the sweet video, before concluding, “congratulations, I love you!”
Underwood also gushed over Mike in a new interview with Fox Sports after the big Nashville Predator’s game, where Carrie admitted that it was “very special” for herself and Isaiah to celebrate the huge hockey milestone with her husband and Isaiah’s dad.
“It’s very special for our family to get to be here for Mike,” Carrie told Fox Sports backstage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on March 21, “He’s there for me and for us as much as he possibly can be with his busy schedule and it’s nice to be able to return that favor.”
“Mike works hard at everything he does,” Carrie continued of her Fisher in the new interview, “I’ve seen how he trains during the season and how dedicated his is… he’s the hardest working person I think I know.”
Underwood’s sweet words about her husband come just weeks after Carrie revealed that she and Mike are actually looking to expand their little family in the not too distant future.
Speaking out to People in the American Idol special edition of the magazine earlier this month, Carrie admitted that she sees “at least” one more baby joining the Fisher family in the next five years. She also admitted that she sees Mike being retired from professional hockey by the year 2019.
Revealing that she sees the young family of four, or more, “living in the country” in their Tennessee home, Carrie also praised Mike in the candid interview, where she described her husband of almost six years as being a “good man.”
“My trust in Mike has only gotten deeper,” Underwood told People of how their relationship has changed since they welcomed little Isaiah into the world in February 2015
She also confessed that communication is the key to their strong relationship.
“It’s all about the communication thing, making sure you’re open and honest,” Carrie said, “He’s a good man.”
