Those who play Powerball should sign the back of their tickets immediately following purchase. There have been several cases of people who have purchased winning lottery tickets but either lost them or had them stolen before they signed the backs of them. Anyone can find a winning Powerball ticket, sign the back of it then try and pass it off as their own. In order to ensure that you are the only person who cashes and claims a winning ticket you purchased, sign the back of your ticket immediately.

It’s also important to keep your Powerball tickets in a safe place. Not only do you need to sign your ticket, but if it becomes damaged to the point your state lottery can’t read the numbers clearly, you could forfeit your winnings. Those who play the lottery on a regular basis might find that it is worthwhile to develop a system. Set a predetermined budget so you never use money for bills or other necessities on lottery tickets, immediately sign the back of your tickets and then put your tickets in a safe place until the day and time of the drawing. Unfortunately, many people fail to claim their winning prizes and one might only assume that is because these tickets were lost. Always check your lottery tickets to see if you’ve won and remember there are nine ways to win at Powerball. You might not have won the jackpot but that doesn’t mean you haven’t won another prize. Always check to see if you won another prize and ensure your tickets are kept safe until you can claim your prize.
