‘Teen Mom 2’ Corey Simms & Wife Miranda Hung With Leah Messer’s Other Ex-Husband In NYC — And Fans Aren’t Happy

Corey Simms and his wife, Miranda, enjoyed their recent trip to New York City, but unfortunately for the Teen Mom 2 couple, they are facing backlash due to one of their many outings. Following a few days in the Big Apple, Corey Simms’ co-star and fellow Leah Messer ex, Jeremy Calvert, shared a controversial photo of the them together on Instagram.

In the photo, shared by Calvert on March 20, Corey Simms was seen sitting beside wife Miranda, and in front of them were Calvert and his girlfriend, Brooke Wehr. Then in a second photo, Corey Simms was seen filming with MTV with Calvert at his side.

After sharing the photos online, Calvert’s page was flooded with messages from fans who questioned his and Corey Simms’ reasons for spending time together.

“Fu***n ridiculous that [he’s] able to break bread with this guy while that poor girl was suffering through a mental illness! Both of them are WACK [as] f**k!” one Instagram user wrote.

In response, another added, “Why shouldn’t they break bread and be friends? Their daughters are sisters! There’s no damn reason they can’t get along and be friends, I only wish my parents had been mature enough to try to get along and not put each other down in front of us as I was growing up!!”

While many felt that Corey Simms was only spending time with Calvert in an effort to get under the skin of their mutual ex-wife, Leah Messer, who went to treatment last year, claiming to have been struggling with anxiety and depression, others thought it was good for the family. Still, considering Messer and Corey Simms admitted to having an affair in late 2013, when Messer was married to Calvert and Corey Simms was just months into his marriage to Miranda, most would call the outing awkward, to say the least.

As Teen Mom 2 fans will recall, Corey Simms and Calvert have hung out at least a couple of times before. First, the two men were seen sitting down on the show during Season 6, where they discussed Messer’s alleged drug addiction. In a scene from the show, Calvert noted his former wife’s “prescription pill problem,” while Corey Simms claimed that if they had done what she did (he didn’t elaborate on what it was), they would never see their children.

Corey Simms and his wife, Miranda, married in June, 2013, and have been together ever since, despite his hookup with Messer, and in November, 2015, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Remi. Since then, however, there have been just a few photos shared of Remi by Simms’ father, Jeff.

During the upcoming seventh season of Teen Mom 2, Corey Simms will be seen battling Messer for custody of their 6-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah. Corey Simms filed for full custody of the twins in late 2014, around the time Calvert claimed Messer cheated on him with her ex-boyfriend, Robbie Kidd. Also at that time, rumors of Messer’s alleged drug use began to swirl.

Although Corey Simms was initially awarded full custody in October 2015, he and Messer have since gone back to court, where they agreed on joint custody.

Corey Simms and Messer’s new agreement “is working out just fine,” a source close to the Teen Mom 2 stars told Radar Online last month. “Everything is running smoothly.”

“Both Leah and Corey are very happy with the new schedule,” the source continued. “They are on great terms.”

For more of Corey Simms and his family, tune into Teen Mom 2 Season 7, airing on Monday nights at 10 p.m. on MTV, starting with the premiere episode tonight, March 21.
