‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Aiden Jenning’s Return Explained?

Days of Our Lives spoilers have already revealed that the character of Aiden Jennings would soon be returning to Salem, but how?

As many Days of Our Lives viewers will remember, Aiden Jennings was the man engaged to Hope Brady during the time that Bo Brady was being held prisoner. Hope and Aiden met through their then-young children, Ciara and Chase, and didn’t like each other at first. However, fate kept pushing them together, and eventually they struck up a romance.

Everything seemed great for Hope and Aiden until Days of Our Lives fans found out he had been working with Stefano DiMera in order to make Hope forget about Bo and eventually marry him. In the days before Hope and Aiden’s wedding, the DiMera family forced Aiden to devise a plan to kill Hope on their wedding night and collect her life insurance money to pay off the debt he owed to them. Aiden seemingly went along with the plan but wasn’t able to follow it through, as Hope fought back and then Bo, fresh from escaping his captors, saved the day and killed Aiden in the process.

Now, it has been confirmed that actor Daniel Cosgrove would be returning to Days of Our Lives as Aiden Jennings, and fans are super confused. Sure, soap opera characters have a way of returning from the dead, sometimes multiple times. However, EP Ken Corday had promised fans that once a character was dead, they would stay dead from now on. How will Aiden’s return be explained now that we know he’s coming back?

Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that Days of Our Lives may be planning to pull the whole evil twin storyline. It’s been done before as Rafe Hernandez most recently had a doppelganger used for evil by the DiMera family while the real Rafe was locked away in a prison cell.

The website reveals that it is likely that the DiMera family had an Aiden look alike who was the one who actually tried to kill Hope, the same man whom Bo killed. If this is true, what will Aiden’s return mean for Hope?

Days of Our Lives fans have watched Hope struggle in the months since Bo’s death, and it has been Rafe Hernandez who has been there for her, protected her, and helped her pick up the pieces of her life amid many poor choices such as murdering Stefano DiMera! If Aiden truly was innocent, then it seems likely he would be expecting a romantic reunion with Hope, right? Well, that may be easier said than done.

Hope will likely not forget what happened on her wedding night with Aiden’s alleged evil doppelganger, and she probably already has feelings for Rafe brewing. However, the biggest obstacle standing in the way of a Hope and Aiden reunion would seemingly be Aiden’s son, Chase Jennings. Chase has become very troubled in the months since his father’s passing and along with bullying Salem’s sweetest teenager, Theo Carver, he’s also become infatuated with his step-sister, Ciara Brady, an infatuation that sadly lead to Chase raping her.

Chase is currently in jail for raping Ciara and Hope is the one who put him there. It seems if Aiden were to return, it would be Chase who he needs to focus on as the teen has really been on a downward spiral since Aiden’s alleged death last fall. Perhaps Aiden is the only one who can get through to Chase and set him back on the right path now.
