Jodie Sweetin Has Potential For Massive ‘DWTS’ Payday

Jodie Sweetin could have what it takes to take home the Dancing With the Stars mirrorball trophy. The 34-year-old Fuller House star is already having a really good year, and even if her DWTS dreams don’t come true, she’ll still make a pretty penny just for competing on the ABC’s celebrity ballroom competition. According to Radar Online, Sweetin could make as much as $345,000 if she makes it through all 10 weeks of Dancing With the Stars.

While the paydays for DWTS contenders are supposed to be top secret, it’s long been known that most celebs get at least $125,000 just for signing on and making it to the first elimination. But Jodie and the other DWTS contestants will make more money each week that they stay on the show. Considering the fact that Jodie Sweetin has a huge fan base, she should have no trouble making it very far into the competition.

The odds are also in Jodie’s favor. TV Line posted a list of odds for this season’s DWTS cast, and Sweetin is right at the top. The site has Jodie listed with 4-1 odds for winning DWTS, citing her Full House fan base and support for her partner, Keo Motsepe, who is definitely due for a longer stint on the show after two early eliminations with past partners Charlotte McKinney and Chaka Khan. Jodie’s high ranking is no surprise (her main competition looks to be UFC fighter Paige VanZant, who is favored at 2-1 with partner Mark Ballas), and she and Keo have said they are both hungry for a win.

Jodie Sweetin has wanted to compete on Dancing With the Stars for at least six years, and the timing is right with her acting career on the upswing thanks to Netflix’s popular Fuller House revival series. In a 2010 interview with People, Jodie said she really wanted to compete on the star-studded dancing show, and she revealed that she favored Latin ballroom dance and that he always wanted to learn the Argentine tango. Plus, there’s a few more DWTS perks Jodie has been eyeing.

“I really want to do the show. I just want to dance, but the fact that it would be on camera, and I’d get to have my hair and makeup done and wear those costumes? Awesome!”

Jodie Sweetin also has the drive to dance her way to the mirrorball. She already teased that she would follow in the footsteps of past winners.

“If I did do the show, I would ask, ‘How many hours did the winners rehearse?’… Then I’d want to do that, plus an hour. I would be that determined.”

Fans can’t wait to see Jodie Sweetin’s moves on DWTS, and with Full House nostalgia in full force, she’s one of the most highly anticipated contestants this season, and it already looks like she’ll pay tribute to her TV sitcom roots.

Of course, longtime Jodie Sweetin fans know she has a natural knack for dance. Jodie took tap and ballet classes when she was just 3-years-old, and her Full House character, Stephanie Tanner, was always dancing. Sweetin even revealed that the writers would let her help choreograph her character’s dance routines on the 90s sitcom. And even on Fuller House, an adult Stephanie has been known to bust a move.

Still, while Jodie Sweetin has the potential to follow her TV sister Candace Cameron-Bure’s path to the DWTS finals (Candace placed third on Season 18 of the show), fans should remember to vote and not just assume that Jodie—or any of their favorite contenders—are safe from elimination.

Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, March 21 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
