‘Law & Order: SVU’: Fin Tutuola Reacts To Olivia Benson’s Transfer, Ice-T Says Situation ‘Rights Itself’

Law & Order: SVU began its three-week hiatus with some confused and angry fans. However, Ice-T, the actor portraying Fin Tutuola, revealed that viewers shouldn’t worry about Olivia Benson. He explained that the situation “rights itself” and spoke about how Fin reacts to finding Mariska Hargitay’s character gone from the Special Victims Unit.

On the last episode of Law & Order: SVU, a sex trafficking case involving the Catholic Church took a bizarre turn when Ed Tucker (Robert John Burke) ended up being investigated by Internal Affairs. Due to Olivia Benson’s personal link to Tucker, she ended up being transferred out of the SVU. Some viewers threatened to abandon the NBC police drama, thinking the actress was no longer on the show.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mariska Hargitay is still very much part of the series. Despite not being in the Special Victims Unit, Olivia Benson will still appear in Law & Order: SVU.

Last time NBC aired an episode of SVU, Fin Tutuola was not seen. However, actor Ice-T will be back on Wednesday when “Unholiest Alliance” airs on NBC. Fin returns to the Special Victims Unit to find Benson is gone and does not react well.

“‘How did that happen? I’ve only been gone a week. What happened?’ They try to explain it to me. It was a simple case, but there’s more to it. It’s basically from her messing around with Tucker, she got herself in a twist,” Ice-T told Entertainment Weekly about Tutuola finding out about Benson’s transfer. “It’s a conflict of interest, but we right it. It rights itself. Even when we’re trying to help get it right, she’s still in the show and you see what she’s going through.”

In a separate spoiler report from Entertainment Weekly, Fin’s absence from the SVU was explained. Tutuola was on vacation, executive producer Warren Leight revealed. When Law & Order: SVU Season 17, Episode 18 airs, the detective sees Mike Dodds (Andy Karl) in Benson’s office. He asks about it, and Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) explains that she tried to call Tutuola to tell him about the situation, but he never answered.

What else can SVU fans expect when the series returns with “Unholiest Alliance”? Spoilers Guide posted the synopsis for Season 17, Episode 18. The sex trafficking case will continue. However, at the same time, SVU detectives will try to expose the truth and clear Benson’s name. Even though Ice-T said the situation does get resolved, Olivia won’t have an easy time getting back into the Special Victims Unit.

Also, expect further drama in “Unholiest Alliance.” A promo clip for Law & Order: SVU shows Benson warning Tucker that he might be in danger. Sister Nina called Olivia earlier that morning and was on high alert. However, Benson has not been able to reach Sister Nina since that phone call.

As for Ed Tucker on SVU, he will be busy answering IAB’s questions about Father Eugene, who just happens to be his cousin. Benson is still in shock that anyone would think Tucker was involved in the sex trafficking case. Knowing Olivia, she won’t just be trying to get her job back, but she will do her best to also help clear Tucker’s name. However, is Tucker really innocent or is he somehow involved? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out. A new episode of Law & Order: SVU airs March 23 on NBC.

What do you think of Olivia Benson being transferred out of the SVU? Do you believe Ed Tucker is innocent or guilty? When will Mariska Hargitay’s character get back into the Special Victims Unit where she belongs?
