Zack Snyder Reveals ‘Justice League’ Working Title

Now that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is less than a week away, Warner Bros. and movie fans can start looking ahead to the future DC films that will be released over the next few years.

Zack Snyder will help to mold the Warner Bros. DC film universe by following up his directing work on Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice by overseeing both Justice League Part One and Justice League Part Two.

During a recent discussion with Collider, Zack Snyder even revealed that they’re still working out the title for the film, before then revealing the working title.

“Right now the working title is Justice League,” Zack Snyder told the website. “Actually, I’m in that phase where I’ve been drawing logos and I’ve been drawing title treatments and stuff like that to try and figure out what it means, what Justice League is, visually, so we’ll see if the name evolves with this visual presentation.”

During the same chat, Zack Snyder did reveal some fresh news regarding Justice League, confirming that it will be set in both Gotham and Metropolis. The director made this revelation when he confirmed that Justice League will be shot in England.

“The schedule’s close,” Zack Snyder admitted. “It’s not quite as long, but give or take. We have a more efficient machine in England because we have a big backlot that we built for Gotham and Metropolis, so it’ll be easier to photograph than when you have to close down streets. But it’s a beautiful backlot.”

Before Justice League: Part One is released on November 17, 2017, the DC Cinematic Universe will be preceded by Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman. It will then be followed by The Flash, Aquaman, and Shazam, before Justice League Part Two is released on June 14, 2019.

Currently DC’s plan is to then release Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps in 2020, while Warner Bros. are also known to be developing solo Batman films that will star, and probably be directed by, Ben Affleck, who is making his debut as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. are also expected to announce sequels to Man Of Steel, which will revolve around the solo adventures of Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Even though Zack Snyder has only just put the finishing touches to Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and is already hard on work on Justice League Part One and Justice League Part Two, the 300 and Watchmen director has already set his sights on his next project after these films.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder confirmed that he’s already been hard at work on an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s legendary novel The Fountainhead.

When asked what he’s been working on as well as Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Justice League, Snyder admitted, “I have been working on The Fountainhead. I’ve always felt like The Fountainhead was such a thesis on the creative process and what it is to create something. Warner Bros. owns [Ayn Rand’s] script and I’ve just been working on that a little bit.”

Before then, though, Zack Snyder has the small matter of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice to contend with. The superhero hybrid is the sequel to Man Of Steel, and it will pit the two iconic superheroes against one another for the first time on the big screen. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will finally be released on March 25, 2016.
