‘Scream Queens’ Season 2 Teasers And Casting News

News that Scream Queens would be returning for a second season came almost as soon as the first season finale aired and, ever since, fans have been clamoring for news on what a Scream Queens second season might entail. A Scream Queens panel at Paleyfest answered some of our most burning questions. To find out who’s coming back and what their characters might be up to now that the Red Devil is no longer a threat, look no further.

A Scream Queens Cast To Die For

The panel at Paleyfest consisted of Brad Falchuk, who co-created the series with Ryan Murphy, and Scream Queens stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Niecy Nash, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin and Billie Lourd.

When asked by the moderator who would be coming back for Season 2, each of the actresses raised her hand, confirming that the entire main cast would rejoin Scream Queens. If that wasn’t clear enough, Curtis confirmed the news.

“This is the first we’re revealing this much of the cast,” said Jamie, who will reprise her role as Dean Cathy Munsch. “We’re all coming back.”

What Will Season 2 Of Scream Queens Look Like?

Once casting news had been revealed, fans and Scream Queens cast members were treated to teasers from Falchuk. The series co-creator was only too happy to taunt the gathering with juicy details about what will be happening in Season 2.

To start off with, Brad confirmed the rumors that Season 2 will take place in a hospital, adding that it will be a teaching hospital, which has been purchased by Cathy Munsch. Joining Munsch on the staff will be Zayday Williams, played by Keke Palmer, who has recently graduated from medical school.

The Scream Queens co-creator adds that the girls will again be under the rule of Cathy Munsch.

“All of the girls will be medical students under the rule of Munsch and three hunky doctors,” Falchuk revealed.

At this point in the panel discussion, Curtis joked that there was already a hashtag circulating Twitter to search for “hunky men” to fill those doctors’ roles.

In much the same way that Season 1 was inspired by 80s horror films with particular inspiration from the cult classic, Heathers, Falchuk spilled similar influences for Season 2 of Scream Queens.

“We looked at the horror movie model and saw this season as a sequel. Just like Friday the 13th and Halloween, Scream Queens‘ second season is a continuation of the characters we all know,” Brad said. “Wait a minute. Halloween 2 was in a hospital.”

Niecy Nash, who will be returning to Scream Queens as the comical Denise Hemphill, announced that even she didn’t know what had happened to her character. The actress was just as eager to know Denise’s fate, as were the fans, compelling Falchuk to reveal another Scream Queens spoiler.

“Well, she’s done her time in Quantico, which of course leads her to being FBI.”

Fans were also eager for more news, and especially interested to know if they could expect more references to past horror films. The moments honoring famous horror movies of the past were some of the fans favorite scenes. Many said that they would like to see more in Season 2 of Scream Queens. The series co-creator was happy to confirm that there would be more nods to classic horror.

All of the Scream Queens actresses commented that they are excited for Season 2, even beyond finding out what has become of their individual characters. Will Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd) finally take her earmuffs off? Will Chanel #5 (Abigail Breslin) find love? How will Zayday get along as Cathy Munsch’ s right hand?

Most importantly, what has become of Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts)?

Scream Queens will return in September 2016.
