Chumlee Arrest Update: ‘Pawn Star’ Admits He ‘Smokes A Lot Of Weed,’ But Does He Deal Drugs?

Chumlee, of Pawn Stars fame, was arrested at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, over a week ago after police found illegal drugs and several weapons inside. Authorities had obtained a search warrant to enter Chumlee’s home after an unidentified woman claimed that she was sexually assaulted by the 33-year-old reality star. While police may have been looking for incriminating evidence in that sexual assault case (which is still open, by the way), they found a lot more than they bargained for, as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

Police booked Chumlee on 19 separate drug possession charges and one weapon charge. Although they found numerous guns, some were indeed registered to Chumlee.

Chumlee (real name Austin L. Russell) was taken into police custody and spent one night in jail before being released on $62,000 bond. According to Fox 8 News, Chumlee has hired attorney David Chesnoff who says that he is “looking forward to the truthful conclusion” in the case against his client. Chesnoff says that Chumlee plans on fighting the felony charges.

According to USA Today, Chumlee told police that he “smoked a lot of weed,” but that didn’t explain the large quantities of other drugs and drug paraphernalia found inside the home. Many people are now wondering if Chumlee has been involved in drug dealing in addition to being a part of Pawn Stars (where he works in a well-known pawn shop as an appraiser).

“It should also be noted that the amount of narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia, and narcotics-related items found throughout the residence suggests (Russell) openly allows and participates in the unlawful use and possession of narcotics. Many of these items are commonly found with persons who package and sell controlled substances, i.e., plastic baggies and digital scales,” the police report reads in part.

Chumlee has not released a statement to the public since his arrest. As for the sexual assault case, police took some items from his home to test.

“Police also seized some of Russell’s clothing and bedding from areas of the house, including laundry room, kitchen, family room, master bedroom, and so on. They also obtained a search warrant to draw a blood sample from Chumlee for testing,” USA Today reports.

It is unclear what the unidentified woman has claimed, or what she says Chumlee did to her, but he could find himself in even more trouble if her claims can be validated.

Most fans have been very supportive of Chumlee and the Pawn Stars family at this time, but there have been quite a few memes being passed around on social media, like the one below.

Chumlee’s fate on Pawn Stars has been in question ever since his arrest. He works as one of the top appraisers at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. Chumlee has been part of the show since its inception 12 seasons ago. Rick Harrison, “Old Man” Richard Harrison, and Corey Harrison are also on The History Channel show, which is super popular. Although the network has not released a statement in regard to Chumlee’s arrest, it is unclear if the show will go on. The more-than-likely scenario would see Chumlee being kicked off the show, especially if he is found guilty on these charges or any additional ones brought against him in the coming weeks.

Are you a Chumlee fan? Do you think things are going to get worse for the reality star? Do you think he will be kicked off of Pawn Stars?
