Mariah Carey Waves Off Questions About Her Relationship With Billionaire James Packer

Mariah Carey is a gorgeous and talented diva who performs on any given night in front of thousands of fans, yet the 45-year-old singer shares that she actually suffers from insecurity and prefers to keep her personal life off the table, especially when it comes to her relationship with fiance James Packer.

Bang Showbiz shares Mariah’s recent words about being a “pretty insecure” person.

“I’m a pretty insecure person. But I have to get over that because it’s the reality of my life. If I start talking about this relationship, people will interpret it in their own way, so I think it’s safer for everyone involved to just not talk about the very personal aspects. I am a private person.”

The songstress is apparently well into the planning of the wedding ceremony that will apparently happen sooner rather than later. However, mums the word on the big event, seeing as Mariah would like to keep her family out of the spotlight for this occasion. However, there have been reports that a wedding in Barbuda, in the Caribbean, is in the plans, or on Packer’s massive yacht. The Mirror UK shared this news earlier this month and also relays the possibility of a very elite and strict guest list for the event.

“Mariah and James Packer’s wedding will reportedly be a private ceremony on a luxury Caribbean island. The couple — whose engagement was revealed in January after a whirlwind romance — are said to be planning to tie the knot this summer, and they’re expected to limit the guest list to their nearest and dearest. [T]he loved up couple are set to get married on the island of Barbuda this summer, with just 50 people attending the nuptials.”

Carey talked recently to the Sunday Times Style Magazine about the secrecy she is trying to maintain, and not taking things for granted after growing up with very little.

“It’s a secret. I’m not doing this for laughs. I enjoy it. When you grow up without a lot of things… I try not to take things for granted. I am very traditional. I have babies, it’s more appropriate. I don’t know if most people can relate to that, but that’s just how I feel.”

According to the Mirror’s report, the ceremony is expected to be in mid-June and guests will be flown in by private jet to the luxurious ceremony. The island is also where Packer is building a $250 million resort with actor Robert DeNiro.

It was back in January that Mariah wowed the world with the £8 million engagement ring that is 35 carats and looks to heavy for her dainty hand. That alone says that the ceremony will cost millions, and be very extravagant regardless as to guest list and secrecy. Mariah even had the nerve to joke about the hideousness of the rock on her hand when the world reacted in awe to the sizable piece. The Mirror relays her words to Reuters at the time.

“It’s hideous, take it away, take it away. I was insulted, I was insulted, I couldn’t believe… No, it was an amazing moment and I’m very, very excited.”

This will mark the third wedding for Mariah after her marriage to Tommy Matolla in the 90s, and to Nick Cannon that resulted in two adorable little ones, Moroccan and Monroe, 4-years-old. Packer has also been married 2 times previous to his engagement to Mariah.

Reports are swirling that Carey is certainly lovestruck, and focused on her wedding as well as her two adorable children. Perhaps her preoccupation with James and her babies was the reasons she was almost an hour late for a performance in Leeds, U.K., which resulted in boos from the crowd.
