Fabrício Werdum Brands Conor McGregor A ‘Prostitute’ For Notoriously Selling Out In UFC For Money

It is no surprise that Conor McGregor is living the high life thanks to his presence in Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC). “The Notorious” constantly brags he earns the biggest paychecks in the most popular MMA promotion in the world. To back up his claim, McGregor flaunts his cash with exotic automobiles, designer suits and expensive jewelry.

Even Conor McGregor’s recent loss at the hands of Nate Diaz at UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz did not hinder his pay. Despite the fact McGregor tapped out in the second round, he still got paid more than Diaz, earning $1 million, as reported by Sherdog. Diaz only earned half of that amount.

Apparently, UFC Heavyweight Champion, Fabrício Werdum, believes Conor McGregor’s pursuit of money makes him a sellout. As a matter of fact, Werdum has even gone as far as to call McGregor a “prostitute” for it.

Fabrício Werdum continued his feud with Conor McGregor during an interview with Brazilian MMA news outlet Combate through Bloody Elbow. In it, “Vai Cavalo” talks about how he would not tolerate any of McGregor’s antics, especially the ones he pulled off on José Aldo during their press conference for UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor.

“If we’re even in the same place, I don’t want him saying anything to me or trying to do anything to me. I won’t just stand there. I’m not going to taunt him, but if he does, I will hit him with a chair, for real. If he tries to snatch my belt, I would first have a go at Dana White. I would go crazy, like a thug. In a staredown, you never touch your opponent. Everything is already so tense and the guy goes and touches you?

“Conor started out well, but then he went over the line, he started talking about Jesus. He just looks like a clown. In Brazil, we call them prostitutes, because they do anything for money. He’s a sellout. Of course it’s important to fight for money, but that guy will sell out for anything. I wouldn’t doubt he would sell out his ass. I wouldn’t do it.”

Despite what Fabrício Werdum says about Conor McGregor, the latter does sell out seats and pay-per-views whenever he fights. UFC and Dana White probably do not pay such a high amount of cash for someone who supposedly is a “prostitute” for the UFC. To be frank, UFC and White can sell anyone they feel has both the talent, charisma, and cross-over appeal to not just make it big in the UFC, but to line their pockets with cash. At the end of the day, UFC is a business and businesses utilize the best stock they have for the most gains. That is why Ronda Rousey, Paige VanZant, and Sage Northcutt, along with McGregor, are highly promoted and pushed.

Fabrício Werdum did not only talk about his disdain for Conor McGregor. He also expressed interest in a super fight against UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Werdum claims he always saw “Bones” as a heavyweight. Werdum cites Jones’ height and weight to be the same as his when he is not training. Given that Jones is just one weight class below the Heavyweight Division, Werdum believes Jones could make the transition believing he versus Jon Jones would make a great fight.

Presently, Fabrício Werdum is training to take on Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 198: Werdum vs. Miocic. It will take place in Curitiba, Brazil on Saturday, May 14. Also, it is believed Cris Cyborg will be fighting at the event, too, just because it is being held in her hometown.
