Iggy Azalea And Nick Young Wedding Postponed: ‘It’s ‘A Bit Sucky, But It’s All Right,’ Rapper Says

Iggy Azalea and Nick Young are calling it quits on their wedding… for now. Us Weekly reports that the Australian rapper and her fiance have postponed their wedding. The reason? Iggy Azalea is going on tour.

“I’m planning my wedding, actually moved my wedding ’cause I have to tour so my wedding plans are changing,” the rapper told Ryan Seacrest during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM show. “It was going to happen at the end of the year but now I have to go to work so we’ll probably have to wait until the end of the next basketball season to do that. So that kind of is a bit sucky, but it’s all right.”

Azalea, who dropped a brand new single called ‘Team,” said that Nick Young is actually supportive of her decision to postpone the wedding because of her career.

“[He’s] really awesome and great and totally understanding and does not mind,” the “Fancy” rapper added. “He’s really milking it, he’s really milking the whole thing. So he’s really happy. Any time he wants to, like, go out with the boys, he’s like, ‘This is my last summer being a bachelor!’ so he likes that. He can milk it for longer with me, so he’s excited.”

According to Us Weekly, Azalea recently admitted that she went through a psychotic breakdown last year which caused her to have suicidal thoughts. The breakdown was caused by a tidal wave of negative press she was dealing with at the time, Billboard reported. She also said that that was was the reason why she canceled her Great Escape Tour in 2015.

“I had to have a psychotic breakdown last year,” she told British magazine Schon. “I felt tired and stressed out.… Last year, I felt like I was definitely not in control of the media’s narrative of me. It made me feel very out of control of my own life or my ability to have my own perception of who I was.”

But Billboard Magazine reports that Iggy Azalea recently admitted that her statement about the psychotic breakdown was a bit of an exaggeration.

Azalea was on Carson Daly’s 97.1 AMP Radio show on Friday and was asked about the comment. The Australian rapper laughed before responding, “Well, not psychotic. I’m a bit of an exaggerator.”

“I think it can get a bit claustrophobic — this whole gossip thing that we have in the entertainment industry. It almost reminds me of a soap opera,” Azalea added. “It’s like other people write your narrative for the soap opera and it is your real life and you might not want to have that storyline.”

But Azalea said that staying out of the spotlight and off of social media helped her to feel better about herself.

“I think it was very negative — just putting me in a dark place. I already had enough going on. I had a lot of stuff going on personally as well that wasn’t anything to do with who’s dissing who or any of that kind of stuff,” she added. “I had real life stuff going on on top of that. So, it was just a lot of stuff for me to handle and I think the social media stuff on top of that just kind of took it over the edge a bit for me.”

Iggy Azalea also announced that she has a new album coming out in June called, Digital Distortion. She also said that she’s focused on her career and making it work for as long as she has to.

“Well, if I’m gonna have everyone try to come at me, then I have to support my own self and I have to be strong on my own and I don’t need all of that extra stuff,” she said. “I’m just gonna rock this out myself.”
