Ryan Reynolds’ Legendary Moment With First Daughters Malia And Sasha Obama

Ryan Reynolds, no stranger to attention, became the center of a very warm sisterly moment between Malia and Sasha Obama. When meeting Ryan Reynolds, Sasha appeared utterly star struck, probably holding back feelings of a celebrity crush, according to Entertainment Weekly. Judging the possibility of this crush by Malia’s reaction, fans have drawn the conclusion that such a cute admiration was at the center of Sasha’s reaction.

The picture, snapped from the sidelines of the interaction, shows a wide-eyed, in-awe Sasha talking to Ryan Reynolds. A bit of a distance away is a grinning older sis Malia, looking straight towards her sister with an encouraging thumbs up. So one of the first daughters has a celebrity crush on Ryan Reynolds. Who could blame her? Too bad he is taken, but as the two girls have grown up in front of the nation, seeing such a youthful, human moment and the supportive reaction of Malia is simply endearing to fans everywhere.

The girls attended the state dinner for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Entertainment Weekly reports that their childhoods were a topic of great interest among those present at the event.

Memories were shared by several attendees, and both heads of state had words to deliver regarding the girls growing up into lovely young women. President Obama even chimed in about how his beautifully attired daughters had transitioned from little girls to pretty young women since he started his stint in office years ago.

The President’s reaction, which almost broke him into tears, was also a very warm, human family moment. He voiced what nearly every parent feels at some point about raising a child: children simply grow up too fast for their mothers and fathers.

“When I was first elected to this office, Malia was just 10 and Sasha was 7. And they grow up too fast. Now Malia is going off to college… And I’m starting to choke up.”

Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, is also the son of a former Prime Minister. He knows what experiencing a childhood as the offspring of a head of state is like, and he also had a few kind words for the girls.

“I admire you very much, both of you, for your extraordinary strength and your grace, through what is a remarkable childhood and young adulthood that will give you extraordinary strength and wisdom beyond your years for the rest of your life. The one thing that you have received from your extraordinary parents is the tools to be able to handle the challenges and the opportunities in front of you.”

It would have been a classic touch if Ryan Reynolds could have added his feelings, but of course, he was not planned in as an event speaker. The first daughters, however, can be happy for him, as he, like them, continues to be successful in the public sphere. His rendition of Deadpool brought in $62 million last month, according to another Entertainment Weekly article, bringing its total revenue to over $700 million to date.

Ryan Reynolds also will star in The Hitman’s Bodyguard next month, and action thriller that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Gary Oldman, and Elodie Young. Another film he is slated to appear in is simply titled Life, and reportedly involves a mission to Mars. Other big names rumoured to appear in the new Ryan Reynolds film include Rebecca Ferguson and Jake Gyllenhall.

Ryan Reynolds certainly has had no shortage of work lately. With his fan base including the first daughters, there is little doubt of his continued success with his career. While he has starred in multiple films and even has television credits, there is the possibility he will be historically remembered for his best role yet; being adorably ogled by a first daughter in a stunningly cute sisterly moment.
