WWE Rumors: Hulk Hogan Never Returning After Winning $115 Million

WWE rumors have been swirling around Hulk Hogan all week. The legendary former world heavyweight champion went to trial against Gawker because they released a sex tape against his wishes. Hogan was asking for $100 million in damages. According to the New York Times, the Hulkster ended up winning $115 million. The financial windfall might prevent Hogan from ever making a return to World Wrestling Entertainment.

When the jury was being selected for the trial between Hulk Hogan and Gawker, there were many that were concerned that his status as a celebrity would make it difficult to find a group of objective people. After all, Hogan was a hero to many when they were younger because he was the man that toppled every bad guy that WWE. For some, it is really hard to separate the man and the legend that he portrayed on television for years.

Now that the verdict has been determined and the jury has decided that Hulk Hogan deserves $115 million, which is more than the $100 million that he initially asked for, the belief is that sympathy and nostalgia were the reasons why the former WWE Heavyweight Champion is being paid so much money. Gawker believes that to be the case, so they’re filing an appeal, one that they feel especially confident in winning.

Once the appeal is concluded, the belief is that Hulk Hogan is going to walk away from this entire ordeal with millions of dollars. There’s very few people who believe that Gawker will win and end up not being forced to pay a dime. After all, they’re being painted as the bad guys because they’re posting sex tapes without permission. Hogan is going to have a couple of more millions of dollars in his bank account very soon.

Through the years, Hulk Hogan has made millions of dollars. That happens when you’re the star of WWE, a company that is valued at over a billion dollars. Unfortunately for the Florida native, he has also lost millions of dollars. The justice system wasn’t very friendly to him when he divorced Linda Hogan. She ended up with more than half of what the couple was worth, which was quite the blow to the Hulkster because he lost hundreds of millions of dollars.

Fortunately for Hulk Hogan, nostalgia can be a lucrative thing. Since he was still beloved by millions of people, he was able to get a paycheck from WWE. That ended, though, whenever footage surfaced of Hogan making racial comments about his daughter being involved with black men. Vince McMahon had no choice but to put some distance between Hulk and World Wrestling Entertainment, so Hogan was out of a source of income.

While no one knows for sure how much money Gawker is going to be forced to pay Hulk Hogan, we do know that it will be millions. At 62 years of age, Hogan doesn’t have a whole ton of time left on the planet. Whatever money he will be paid should be more than enough to live on, provided he cuts back on the luxuries. Since he doesn’t need to make millions of dollars anymore, the belief is that he will not need to return to WWE. The feeling is that he was really upset because the company turned their backs on him.

Since he was such a legendary figure in the industry, it will be very sad if WWE fans never get to see Hulk Hogan on Monday Night Raw, Smackdown, and Wrestlemania ever again. Hopefully, emotions can subside someday and the two sides will be able to do business again.
