Prince Harry Says He Is Ready To Have Kids Right Now

Prince Harry is ready to be a dad. The still-single British royal opened up to Robin Roberts of ABC News’ Good Morning America, revealing that he hopes his mother is looking down on him and is proud of what he has accomplished in his 31 years. Harry then said that he’s sure his late mother is ready for him to have some kids of his own.

“I hope she’s looking down, you know, with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we’ve established, I suppose. I’m sure she’s longing for me to have kids so she can be a grandmother again.”

Prince Harry formed the charity Sentebale in honor of his mother, Princess Diana. The charity provides help for the African children of Lesotho, many of whom are struggling with poverty and AIDS, a cause that was close to Diana’s heart.

In the GMA interview, Prince Harry also talked about how much he enjoys being a “fun” uncle to his brother William and his wife Kate Middleton’s two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

“You’ve got to have fun in life. Otherwise, wow, imagine life without fun,” Harry said. “You’ve got to be taken seriously, but I hope that I’m a fun uncle.”

Prince Harry also dished that he can’t wait to be a father himself. While he admits that he’s still a bit of a kid inside, Harry says he loves how uninhibited children are and that he’s looking forward to the day that he comes a dad.

“I can’t wait for the day. So, you know, it will be fantastic. I’ve got a kid inside of me. I want to keep that. I adore kids. I enjoy everything that they bring to the party. They just say what they think.”

Prince Harry lost his mother at a very young age, a tragic event that he says shaped his life “massively.” Still, the 31-year-old, who’s fifth-in-line to the British throne, says he has very happy memories of his years with his beloved mother, who died in a tragic Paris car crash in 1997 when he was just 13-years-old.

One of Prince Harry’s favorite memories was a childhood trip to the U.S. to the Walt Disney World theme park with his mother.

“It’s one of my very, very happy memories, of going to Disney World with my mum. I went on ‘Space Mountain’ 14 times. I was like, ‘This is absolutely fantastic. This is the best thing ever.’…There’s all sorts of places over the world where we were very lucky to have those moments with our mother; and very, very happy memories.”

This isn’t the first time Prince harry has talked about having kids. Last year, the British Army veteran told Sky News that he would love to have kids “right now.”

“There come times when you think now is the time to settle down, or now is not, whatever way it is, but I don’t think you can force these things; it will happen when it’s going to happen… Of course, I would love to have kids right now. But there’s a process that one has to go through.”

Of course, while he’s been talking about it, Prince Harry probably won’t be having children anytime soon, as he’s still a very eligible bachelor and not anywhere near getting married. Harry doesn’t appear to even have a serious girlfriend at the moment. According to Us Weekly, Prince Harry has been linked with several blonde beauties over the past few years, including on-and-off ex Chelsy Davy, who met up with him while he was on a three-month conservation tour in Africa last year, and British actress Cressida Bonas, whom he dated for two years before they split in April 2014.
