Madonna Over Two Hours Late For Brisbane Show, Blames Fans For Coming Early

Madonna was set to appear on the Brisbane, Australia, leg of her Rebel Heart Tour on Wednesday night, but only turned up more than two hours late, upsetting her fans.

Madonna has been in the news at lot lately regarding her current tour and has been accused of strange behavior, including some saying she was drunk on stage. The Inquisitr has reported widely on the various rumors doing the rounds that Madonna has been seen drunk or high on drugs on stage. The pop diva has fiercely denied the rumors, saying her unusual behavior is merely part of her act.

However, on her next stop on the Rebel Heart Tour, Madonna turned up for her concert in Brisbane, Australia, more than two hours late on Wednesday night. Reportedly she was supposed to be on stage at 9 p.m., but only turned up at 11:22 p.m. making her dedicated fans – who had been impatiently waiting for her – very upset.

As Madonna took the stage, fans were booing her and demanding refunds, but she reportedly didn’t seem to care. According to a report by TMZ, the singer was heard to accuse her fans of getting to the concert venue early, saying, “It’s you people that get here early, that’s the problem.”

“Stay home, do your hair and makeup, have a tequila. Roll yourself a fat one.”

The already-upset fans who had tried to demand refunds were reportedly even more upset because, having started so late, the concert only ended well after 1 a.m. As the last train from the venue left at 12:17 a.m., this left a whole load of people stranded, with no way to get home.

However, reportedly before Madonna’s late arrival, management of the Brisbane Entertainment Center, where the show was held, had reportedly warned fans that the pop diva wouldn’t be up on stage any earlier than 10:30 p.m. They have also, reportedly, warned fans attending Thursday night’s show that can expect similar delays, reportedly despite the fact Madonna has told the audience that incidents like this “hardly ever happen.”

Reportedly the fact she was late was not the only negative aspect of the Brisbane show, as Madonna appeared to be stumbling around on the stage again, especially when singing her hit song, “Like a Virgin.” This is despite the denials aired by Madonna on the social media a few days before after people claimed she was performing under the influence.

She wrote, “For those people who like to believe all they read I never drink and perform!!! My show is 2 hours and 15 minutes of non stop singing and dancing. In Louisville I made a joke about doing a stand comedy act dressed as a clown and being able to drink alcohol. Its [sic] so very interesting how society continues to not only treat me in a totally sexist way (if I were a man no one would have said a thing) and also continue to take everything I say literally! That’s what happens when people don’t read books and get all information from TMZ.”

Maybe Madonna is acting a strange role, or maybe she isn’t, but back in January when she was performing in Louisville, Kentucky, several fans reportedly accused the pop diva of being “very drunk” and of “trash talking” the crowd. According to a report on HNGN, one fan at the concert reported tweeted at the time, “This concert experience has been one of the weirdest of my life, I’m pretty sure Madonna is hammered drunk on stage.”

Despite all this, Gossip Cop has firmly taken the side of Madonna, saying everything fans are seeing is, genuinely, all part of the Rebel Heart show.

Speaking of her stumbling around during her “Like a Virgin” number, they report that a quick search on YouTube will reveal she has been doing that same “stumbling” dance throughout the Rebel Heart Tour when performing that specific 1984 hit.

According to Gossip Cop, Madonna first does a move that resembles her humping the stage. This move is followed by her getting up and then “stumbling.” They say she did it in December at the Bercy in Paris and she did it again on Wednesday night in Brisbane. They theorize she will do it yet again on Saturday night when she performs in Sydney.

Reportedly, a source involved in the production told Gossip Cop,“Madonna has danced the same dance for the last seven months, and that is far from ‘stumbling.'”

A video of her performing that specific number in Paris is included below.

However, Gossip Cop did fail to give a reasonable explanation for Madonna arriving over two hours late for Wednesday’s show, or why she will probably be late yet again on Thursday night.
