[Graphic Videos] Fire-Breather Catches Fire At Atlantic Community High School, Injures 20 — Including Students And Fire-Breather


The below videos show the chaos that erupted at a pep rally that went terribly wrong after a fire-breather caught fire at Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach, Florida. The videos taken at Atlantic Community High School show the actual start of the man catching fire — plus the aftermath as the fire-breather caught on fire, and appears to be engulfed in flames as he lays on the ground of the gym.

Oddly, the video shows one Atlantic Community High School student appearing to jump around in celebration as the man lay on fire — however, it might have merely been a reaction of not knowing what to do as the screaming and chaos erupted at the Atlantic Community High School pep rally.

The fire occurred when a man that was hired to perform fire-breathing tricks at Atlantic Community High School caught fire and the fire injured others as well. According to the Sun Sentinel, there were 20 people treated for injuries as a result of the fire at the high school, with eight people hospitalized. An additional video can be seen below.

Of those hospitalized includes the fire-breather himself, who suffered from serious burns and injuries. The other seven who were hospitalized as a result of the Atlantic Community High School fire melee were Atlantic Community High School students who suffered injuries that were not life-threatening injuries.

The Atlantic Community High School students can be seen trying to help the man on fire by batting at his flames. Other Atlantic Community High School students scream in terror and sadness. It was supposed to be a fun event at the Atlantic Community High School, with the fire-breathing man performing tricks as the students prepared for their Florida Standards Assessment test.

If the Atlantic Community High School students received a correct answer for a particular question asked, the fire-breather was hired to perform a fire-breathing trick as a reward. Instead of eating fire, however, the man caught on fire and was injured. The Atlantic Community High School’s day wasn’t cancelled after the fire-breathing gone wrong incident — but the Atlantic Community High School students went back to classes, as instructed.

The Atlantic Community High School students are experiencing their last day prior to Spring Break on Thursday, March 17 — the same day the awful fire happened.

The fire-breather was supposed to slam dunk a basketball, and ignited a stick with flammable fluids — and began playing with fire, literally placing the fire on his body. His jacket ended up catching on fire, along with the man who blew alcohol.

The Atlantic Community High School students began rushing out of the gym as the dangerous concoction of fire and flammable liquids exploded into a bigger fire that wasn’t anticipated. Smoke inhalation injuries resulted, and one female Atlantic Community High School student reportedly had a seizure, while another female Atlantic Community High School student experienced problems breathing, with asthma-like symptoms.

Reactions to the horrible fire on social media and elsewhere show folks criticizing the Atlantic Community High School for allowing a fire-breather to perform at the school — one that apparently didn’t undertake all the safety measures possible to prevent such a tragic outcome.

The disturbing videos will likely cause a new policy to be enacted at Atlantic Community High School — and many other schools around the nation — to prevent such a fire from happening again.
