Weigh 200 Pounds Or More? Rock A Bikini, Booty Shorts And Leggings — Says Sara Petty’s Viral Twitter Tweet [Photos]

Turns out celebrities like Elise Neal aren’t the only ones who can rock out a bikini, as reported by the Inquisitr. That’s the message that Sara Petty wanted to get across when Petty did a search for “200 pounds” and “bikini” on Twitter and learned about several tweets that suggested women who weigh more than 200 pounds should not attempt to even dare to wear a bikini. Well, not only did Sara take screenshots of those “200 pounds” and disparaging tweets, but Petty combined the “200 pounds” tweets into a photo gallery of Petty wearing a bikini as well as booty shorts and leggings — and looking good doing so.

Sara urged girls to wear whatever they wanted, and to not follow the dictates of those whom Petty discovered had written the following things about “200 pounds” or “200+ pounds” and being “over 200 pounds” — which should be written as “more than 200 pounds,” to be technically correct.

“If you’re 200 pounds, maybe a bikini isn’t for you. [Smiley face emoji and bikini emoji]”

“Please don’t wear a bikini if you’re 200+ pounds. Thanks! [Big smiley face emoji, no bikini emoji.]”

“If [you’re] over 200 pounds please don’t wear a bikini. [No emojis.]”

“Sorry but if [you’re] over 200 pounds you shouldn’t be trying to fit your fat a** in a crop top. You CANNOT pull it off. [Wide-eyes and smiley face emoji.]”

“I’m sorry but if you’re like 200 pounds you shouldn’t be wearing a crop top…”

“Attention all girls over 200 pounds: please do yourself and all of us a favor and throw the booty shorts in the garbage. Gross.”

“It is NOT acceptable to wear booty shorts while being 200+ pounds. #sorrynotsorry”

“Okay, if you weigh over 200 pounds you should not be posting selfies of you in your booty short. #JustSayin”

“If you weigh more than 200 pounds PLEASE don’t wear leggings in public.”

“If ur over 200 pounds don’t wear leggings.”

“If you’re over 200 pounds I would highly recommend you to never wear leggings. omg.”

Sara took a lesson from those who use the comment sections of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media sites to shame others. Petty turned the hateful “200 pounds” tweets on their heads by screenshotting them and exposing the writers.

As a result, Sara’s Twitter tweet has been liked nearly 80,000 times since Petty first posted the tweet on March 9, at 12:32 a.m. — apparently burning the midnight oil in her bikini. Petty’s tweet has been retweeted nearly 68,000 times in that time period, as well. Plenty of folks must agree with the logic that Sara espouses: body shaming has to stop. Some Twitter users noted that it was all women who appeared in Sara’s tweet that talked about “200 pounds” in a bad way.

A search for “200 pounds” on Twitter after Sara’s tweet went viral reveals folks tweeting about themselves bench-pressing 200 pounds — along with those reacting to Petty’s post. Some write that Sara doesn’t look like she’s 200 pounds, writing that Petty looks gorgeous, in spite of being 200 pounds — which kind of misses the point that Petty was seemingly trying to make in the first place.

Merely typing “200 pounds” into Twitter’s search engine pulls up suggestions like “200 pounds skinny jeans” and “200 pounds you should not” and “200 pounds shouldn’t wear,” proving folks are searching for folks tweeting about what folks who weigh 200 pounds and above shouldn’t wear.

A search for “200 pounds leggings” turns up tweets of folks agreeing with Sara — and clapping back at some of the women who initially tweeted negative things about folks wearing things at 200 pounds and above, with some of those original “200 pounds” tweets conspicuously missing now that Petty has gone viral, as reported by the Huffington Post.
