‘Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell Checks Into Rehab To Seek Treatment For Anxiety And Depression

Teen Mom star Catelynn Lowell (Baltierra) has checked into rehab to seek treatment for her anxiety and depression.

On Tuesday, March 15, Catelynn and her husband Tyler Baltierra sent out a series of cryptic tweets that had their fans wondering if everything was okay. While the reason for the tweets wasn’t clear at the time, it is now known that Catelynn is flying to Arizona to enter a rehab facility.

“Please just pray for my wife,” Tyler tweeted on Tuesday. He later added, “For better or for worse…through sickness & in health…I will NEVER stop fighting for my wife. Keep her in your prayers…thank you.”

Lowell also sent out some mysterious tweets of her own.

“For everyone that thinks I’m so “strong” I’m really not… one day you will know why. I also can be very weak..,”Lowell wrote before adding, “You guys have NO CLUE on how much you lift me up sometimes…”

On Wednesday, March 16, Catelynn spoke to In Touch Weekly and revealed that she would be checking herself into rehab to get help for the depression and anxiety she has suffered from for years. According to her Twitter page, Lowell will be receiving treatment in Arizona.

“Arizona here I come…,” she captioned an Instagram photo of an airplane. “I can’t wait to be back to my normal self… this is for me and my family.. Novalee and Tyler I love you both very much!!!”

Catelynn’s struggles with depression and anxiety have been thoroughly documented on MTV’s reality show Teen Mom. If you will recall, Catelynn and Tyler gave up their daughter Carly for adoption when they were only 16 years old. The couple stayed together and tied the knot last summer during a fairy-tale wedding in Michigan. On January 1, 2015, the pair welcomed their second daughter, Nova Reign, and while her fans thought the wedding and birth of Lowell and Baltierra’s daughter would help with her emotional state, it only got worse when she started experiencing postpartum depression. Lowell even admitted that she contemplated suicide at one point.

“I just need encouragement. It’s good to have somebody to push you to do something because those are the last things you want to do when you are going through it. You don’t want to get dressed. You don’t want to get out of bed. I wanna just sleep my life away,” Catelynn told Tyler during an episode of Teen Mom.

“I don’t want to deal with that forever,” Lowell added. “That’s not what I want to deal with for the rest of my life. I don’t want to be like that. I don’t want Nova growing up seeing me go through, like, spouts and stuff.”

So far, Catelynn’s fans have been very supportive of her decision. Her fellow Teen Mom star Amber Portwood even sent out well wishes for the young mother.

“I love you guys so much..you know that @CatelynnLowell @TylerBaltierra,” Portwood wrote in response to Tyler’s tweet.

“We love ya too Amb…its just hard to see her go through all this & be away from her for so long,” Tyler responded.

As of now, it is not clear how long Catelynn Lowell (Baltierra) will be in rehab.
