Kim Kardashian Battles Kanye West To Use North West For PR: Nude Selfie Drama Includes Zayn Malik & ‘Slut’ Mural

Kim Kardashian may want to consider having her name changed to Kim Kontroversy Kardashian, because controversy seems to be the name of her publicity game right now. From reports that Kim is considering divorcing Kanye West because his Twitter rants and meltdowns segued from amusing to outrageous to a celebrity-fueled backlash over her most recent nude selfies, Kardashian has been in the center of a whirlwind of debate. The most recent stress in Kim land reportedly comes from her use of her 2-year-old daughter North West to promote her new presence on Snapchat, according to Radar Online.

Amid reports that their marriage is in shambles, Kim and Kanye are battling it out over videos she has posted to Snapchat featuring North.

Kardashian shared one pose showing a terrified North forced to participate in the shoot, and the use of their daughter has Kanye outraged, a source told Radar.

“Kanye cannot stand the fact that Kim uses their daughter North to promote herself on Snapchat or any of her other social media outlets. Kanye told Kim that it is different when he tweets about his kids because he is not actually putting them on camera against their will.”

Moreover, North has shown that she hates being on camera. But Kardashian is ignoring what Nori, as the Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan sometimes calls the 2-year-old, desires.

“Nori has made it very clear to her mother and the world that she does not like being filmed and Kim does it anyways,” pointed out the source.

And Kanye isn’t the only one to scold Kardashian for exploiting her daughter. Both Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner agree with West that it’s not right.

“Kourtney and her own mother Kris have come down on Kim over this and she simply ignores them too,” added the insider. “Kanye told her that he will not tolerate this behavior much longer.”

The backlash from her own family comes just as Kim continues to deal with the response from her nude selfies. Those reactions range from celebrities who have defended Kardashian to those who have criticized her. Among those who took Kim’s side was Emily Ratajkowski, and Kardashian was so grateful that she sent Emily flowers, reported Us Weekly.

“Thank you for the beautiful flowers and note @kimkardashian,” posted Emily in response. “It’s so important that we let women express their sexuality and share their bodies however they choose.”

But while Kim is getting defended by the actress, Kardashian is facing what some interpreted to be a diss over her nude selfie from Zayn Malik, according to Hollywood Life.

“Love how people feel liberated naked. Read a book liberate your brain,” tweeted Zayn.

Fans interpreted that tweet as meaning Malik was hinting that someone who went naked wasn’t well-educated. Zayn then attempted to clarify his original post.

“This is not shade. Love..liberate yourself with education and learn to love everyone’s expression..I said love, how exactly is that shade? Explanation done.”

It’s not just on social media that Kardashian is facing a backlash from her now-infamous nude selfie, however. An enormous mural dedicated to the selfie lasted eight hours on the side of a Melbourne, Australia, digital printing shop before it was defaced by someone who sprayed “slut” across it, reported Us Weekly.

“It was vandalized only just eight hours after completion,” mourned the street artist, Lush Sux.

In response to all the backlash, Kim posted an empowered essay on her website.

“I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin,” wrote Kardashian. “I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me.”

Kim even got bashed for allowing North West to put on those Mardi Gras beads by In Touch Weekly, which described the beads as “aka the accessory that women get for flashing their breasts on Fat Tuesday.”

However, NOLA reports that the Mardi Gras beads can be bought year-round and points out that the celebration is for family, not just for partying.
