7-Eleven’s ‘Bring Your Own Cup’ Day For Slurpees Is This Friday And Saturday — Here Are The Rules

7-Eleven is celebrating the 50th birthday of the Slurpee in 2016, and they are wanting to give back to its loyal customers and patrons in a unique way. Instead of one day this year, there will be two whole days to “Bring Your Own Cup” or BYOC. You can bring in your own cup, or an item that acts as a cup, and fill it up with your favorite flavor of Slurpee for a very cheap price. Don’t get carried away though, as there are some rules to follow.

On Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19, head out to your 7-Eleven (or 7-11) and bring in your own cup (cup-like item) and fill them at the Slurpee machine for a mere $1.50. Inflation may get the best of some people, but that’s only a 1-cent increase over last year’s promotion.

This weekend, both days will allow you to take part in Bring Your Own Cup Day during the hours of 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. local time. It’s on Slurpees, but some locations may allow you to do the $1.50 fill-up on hot beverages, Chillers, and Big Gulps.

Check with the employees of your local store before assuming.

Now, don’t go trying to bring in five or 10-gallon buckets to fill up with Slurpee for just $1.50. There are some rules that you need to follow so that you can take part in the celebration of Slurpee Fiftee.

Now, here are the rules you need to follow for Bring Your Own Cup Day at 7-Eleven:

  1. Cup must fit within a 10-inch diameter hole – There will be a cardboard standee display for you to check.
  2. Cup must be food-safe clean.
  3. Cup must be watertight.
  4. One cup per person on BYO Cup Day

As you can see, there are just a few stipulations, but you can get creative. Sure, there will be those that bring big cups or bowls or even hats, but you’ve got to have fun with it.

All you have to do is keep the rules in mind and use your imagination, and the Slurpee of your dreams can be yours at a 7-Eleven this weekend.

The official press release from 7-Eleven and Slurpee does say to make sure that your local store is a participating location. Most of the 7-Eleven stores will be taking part in the Bring Your Own Cup Days, but it doesn’t hurt to check ahead of time. There is more good news as well, and it’s tasty.

“7-Eleven is taking Slurpee season to the extreme with new Airheads Xtremes Rainbow Berry Slurpee, a sweetly sour flavor combination of your favorite frozen beverage. This new flavor is available now, exclusively at 7-Eleven.”

7-Eleven is urging everyone to enjoy BYOC Day by getting it trending and heading out over social media as much as possible. They want customers to use the hashtag #BYOCupDay on Twitter and Instagram and to let @7Eleven know about it.

Doesn’t seem like a bad combination for a sugar rush, and you really can’t beat the price of $1.50 for a Slurpee that may be in a container the size of someone’s head.

Yes, that is a possibility, but don’t forget the rules and what constitutes a legitimate filling device aka cup.

7-Eleven loves giving back to customers, and what better way to do that than with Bring Your Own Cup Day? Slurpees are something that everyone loves, and being able to get as small or (almost) a big cup filled as you would like…that’s not too bad a deal at all.
