Selena Gomez Worried She Won’t Find Love Following Justin Bieber Split [Report]
Selena Gomez is allegedly worried that she won’t find love again following her big split from Justin Bieber in 2014.
According to a source who spoke to Hollywood Life, Gomez is worried that her past rocky relationship with Justin Bieber and her insanely busy schedule will make it too hard for her to fall in love again with someone new.
The insider revealed to the site that Selena has made a running joke out of her single status with her closest friends and allegedly often jokes that she’s “going to be single forever” due to her past romance and overwhelming work schedule.
“Selena has seen some writing on the wall that her having a relationship in the future is going to be very, very hard,” the insider supposedly told Hollywood Life this week, adding that Gomez is “apprehensive” about getting into a new relationship following her tumultuous romance with Bieber.
“She is very apprehensive in trying something new or being set up because she believes it is doomed to fail from the start for a plethora of reasons,” the source revealed of Selena’s stance on getting into a new relationship, admitting that Gomez has been turning to work to mask her feelings.

“[Selena] covers those emotions up though by always working, she now wants to be continuously busy whether it is with her tour or doing films,” the insider told the site. “It gives her an excuse to not stress on meeting a guy.”
Reports that Selena Gomez is nervous when it comes to getting back into the dating world arrive just days after Hollywood Life revealed that Gomez’s close friend Taylor Swift has actually been giving Selena a little dating advice in the wake of her one-year anniversary with boyfriend Calvin Harris last week.
An insider told the site earlier this month that “Taylor is always encouraging Selena” when it comes to her being open to a new romance, and she often reminds Gomez of her past disasters in the dating world before finding love with Harris.
“Taylor reminds Selena about her own heartache and how she overcame her own obstacles and eventually met Calvin,” the source said, alleging that Swift tells Gomez “to keep believing that her time will come and not to settle, and most importantly, to have an open mind and heart.”
Gomez most recently opened up about her breakup with Justin in a candid interview with Refinery29, where Selena admitted that Bieber broke her heart when they split for good after a four-year on-and-off romance back in 2014.
“Of course I got my heart broken,” Selena told the site back in December of her former romance with Justin Bieber, adding that there’s “no anger” between the two now.
“There’s closure in a very good, healthy way. We’ve seen each other. I’m always encouraging and I am proud of his journey,” Gomez told the site of Justin at the time. “I think people are making it out to be something that is more tragic than it really was. We grew up together. We both made mistakes. That’s it.”
But while Selena has stayed mum on any possible post-Bieber romances, Entertainment Tonight most recently spotted Selena on what appeared to be a dinner date with fashion executive Samuel Krost back in January, where the two were seen looking cozy and holding hands.
An insider revealed to the site at the time that Gomez and Krost “looked like a couple” while out together in Beverly Hills, although Selena has neither confirmed nor denied whether the two are, or were, officially an item.
