Michael Muhney Update: Actor Addresses ‘Y&R’ Scandal He Was Embroiled In And Whether He’ll Appear On Another Soap

Michael Muhney addressed The Young and the Restless scandal he was embroiled in back in 2013, and whether he’ll appear on another soap opera.

Muhney, who portrayed Adam Newman on the hit CBS series, responded to fans during a Twitter Q&A session recently. He set the record straight on two major issues concerning the alleged sexual harassment scandal and if he’s going to appear on General Hospital or Days of Our Lives.

According to a tweet that Muhney first posted on February 29, he shared that he was waiting to hear if he got the part for a new series.

Michael Muhney tweeted, “Sooooooo close on a deal for a new series! I’m on pins & needles. If not this one, I will find a good show soon! #WorkinOnIt”

Muhney didn’t reveal what series it was or which network it was with.

This tweet got fans talking. The chatter led to many surmising that the former Y&R star would possibly appear on either GH or DOOL. Muhney tweeted another message on March 2 informing fans that he wasn’t chosen for the project.

He tweeted, “Darn! They went with the other guy!???? But it’s gonna be a great new show, either way! Honored that I got so close! On to the next project!”

A compelling tweet came in by @Mommy2JandB on March 9 when Muhney was asked if he was ever on par for a role with GH.

Muhney answered with a brief, “nope. Never.”

Another question was asked of Muhney when @airllusion asked he ever sexually harassed Y&R co-star, Hunter King.

Michael tweeted back, “ha! The big N-O.”

There were speculations swirling that Michael Muhney would be a great recast of GH’s Lucky Spencer or DOOL’s EJ DiMera. Neither of those rumors ended up being the case. It remains to be seen if the actor would be cast on any daytime drama. It’s been a few years now since his departure from The Young & the Restless. He’s had other projects since then, but none of them have been associated with an actual television series.

Muhney has a good sense of humor about questions he gets about future projects, nonetheless. On March 11 he tweeted, “If I had a dollar for every time I was asked what my next tv project was gonna be, I’d be making as much money as my last TV gig.???????? ??”

The actor has a loyal fan base and several threatened to boycott Y&R after he was allegedly fired. It was an event that even caused co-stars of the soap to take sides after it was reported that Michael was accused of groping King, who portrays Summer Newman.

Nothing solid has ever been reported on the alleged harassment. CBS hasn’t disclosed any information and Michael Muhney vehemently denies the allegations.

It looks like Michael Muhney fans still have to wait when it comes to seeing their favorite actor appear in another television series. Luckily for them, he’s not giving up on that pursuit.
