WWE News: Bray Wyatt Working With Back Injury, Real Reason He Didn’t Work WWE ‘Roadblock’

Plans changed at WWE Roadblock, presumably right before the actual event started. For two weeks, the WWE promoted Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar at WWE Roadblock. Before that was even an official match, Wyatt was supposed to fight Lesnar at WrestleMania 32. They changed their minds on that for WrestleMania and inserted Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight. Without a mention whatsoever, WWE officials changed the Roadblock match.

Lesnar entered the ring first, and then Wyatt, accompanied by Luke Harper, followed after. Wyatt entered the arena by cutting a promo. At first, WWE fans thought it was changed to a 2-on-1 match. That was simply due to Wyatt’s verbiage. Then, Harper got into the ring and Wyatt went outside. It was altered to a Harper vs. Lesnar match. It didn’t take long for the Beast Incarnate to lay upon his pay that night in Toronto.

Rumors were running around the Internet after that happened. Wyatt didn’t get touched by the former-UFC Heavyweight champion. One theory was that Wyatt was getting saved for Lesnar at WrestleMania 32, then Ambrose would slide up to the main event for the WWE championship. However, after it was nearly confirmed that Ambrose and Lesnar was still happening, reports still had Wyatt facing Lesnar a later date. A new report is refuting that, citing a different reason why Wyatt didn’t wrestle.

According to SEScoops.com and Dave Meltzer, Bray Wyatt is reportedly suffering from a back injury, which is why he had to pull out of his match against Brock Lesnar.

“Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com reported on Sunday night that it turns out Bray is working with a back injury right now. Meltzer says Bray’s back is in really bad shape, so WWE made the decision to stop him from taking bumps for the time being.

“This adds to the list of injuries Bray has sustained since his NXT days, including a pectoral injury that required surgery and several nagging injuries.

“Bray currently isn’t advertised to compete at WrestleMania on April 3rd.”

This is very bad news for the WWE, and if he’s out for WrestleMania, that will add him to a laundry list of wrestlers who cannot compete at the grande event. John Cena, Sting, Cesaro, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins are already out of WrestleMania. That’s a huge blow to the event itself, which is even harder for booking the show. Without all of those wrestlers, the WWE had to stack the deck with Shane McMahon and others.

Tonight’s WWE Raw is supposed to be huge and will feature a good bit of superstars. SEScoops.com has the latest on who is scheduled to show up in Pittsburgh.

“Part-time performers The Undertaker, Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar are all scheduled to appear to hype their matches at WrestleMania, which is now less than 3 weeks away.

“In addition, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley will be returning to WWE television tonight to set up his involvement at WrestleMania.”

One name that was rumored to appear was Daniel Bryan, but he was only in town to be there for the partnership between the V Foundation and Connor’s Cure, which began in Pittsburgh. Bryan was a big player for that foundation, as he was Connor Michalek’s favorite wrestler.

Where will Bray Wyatt go from here, and will he be healthy enough for WrestleMania? For those that remember, Wyatt got hurt practicing for his Mania match with Undertaker, but still wrestled. Therefore, he may just fight through the pain and wrestle anyway. Without Wyatt, his stock in the WWE would just dwindle completely if that happened.
