‘What Do You Mean?’ Kanye West Totally Channels Justin Bieber

Who would have thought that Kanye West is a Justin Bieber fan? West is renowned for being his own number one fan, but it seems that Kanye has a soft spot for Bieber and the feeling may be mutual.

Over the past few weeks Kanye fans have been wondering if the rapper has lost the plot as he went on a series of Twitter rants. West claimed to be over $50 million in debt and used Twitter to ask Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion in him. Kanye also entered into a much publicized slanging match with Wiz Khalifa, but it seems that West has taken a deep breath and returned to normality.

Yesterday West took to Twitter again, this time to plug his admiration for Justin Bieber’s song “What Do You Mean.” According to Billboard, Kanye admitted that Bieber’s No. 1 hit was his favorite song of 2015. Bieber’s song gave him his first hot 100 chart topper, as well as winning Kanye’s approval.

Back in the fall when Bieber released “What Do You Mean,” he had some nice things to say about West.

“Kanye’s a talker, so you get him in a room and he just starts talking, and he just starts ranting, and I just sit and I listen because he’s been through a lot of stuff.”

“Kanye is not just talking to just talk. He’s obviously got something to say that he’s feeling from his heart. So when I hear that, I like to just sit and listen. He’s a really, really smart guy.”

Of course Kanye being Kanye couldn’t just leave it at that. Newsweek reports that after praising Bieber, West went on a lengthy diatribe about himself and what he sees as his own best quality. West spelled out his own qualities in a lengthy series of Tweets that could have been written by a political speech writer.

“I have discovered my single greatest quality. I care. Everyone can say anything they want about me but they could never say that I didn’t care. I care about people. I care about our future. I care about truth. I care about quality. I think human beings can create a Utopia. I believe in us.”

That sounds like the American dream right there Kanye. Perhaps West really will run for president in 2020. Can you imagine the battle of egos that would transpire if West ran against Donald Trump?

In other Kanye news, Yahoo! Lifestyle speculates that West may be diversifying into designing furniture. It seems that Kanye was spotted visiting the headquarters of Swedish flat-pack furniture giant Ikea leading to speculation that West might be heading into a collaboration with the furniture maker. A spokesperson for Ikea confirmed that West had visited the firm’s headquarters in Almhult, Sweden but refused to confirm whether or not West will be working with them.

“That’s right, we can confirm that he is there. I don’t want to and can’t say more than that he is in Älmhult at Ikea today.”

As to whether West and Ikea will be collaborating on a project? “Time will tell.”

It is not clear whether or not West has actually shared ideas with Ikea or no, but it is clear that Kanye has creative energy to burn. It was widely reported last week that Kanye could release as many as six clothing collections and three albums this year. It also seems that Kanye’s latest release, The Life Of Pablo, continues to evolve on Tidal.

According to Pitchfork a new version of West’s track “Famous” has emerged on Jay-Z’s streaming platform.
