Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were probably the most glamorous Hollywood couple at the White House reception for the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. The power couple totally wowed not just the public, but Malia Obama and the prime minister himself that night.
During this very exclusive event, people were getting star struck left and right — and Malia Obama was no exception. Even though she is the U.S. president’s daughter, she was very impressed by Ryan Reynolds and the way he engaged with her little sister.

While Sasha might have been embarrassed by her older sister’s behavior, she might thank her later for making that night another memorable one during her father’s presidency. This photo is definitely one for the scrapbooks about growing up in the White House!

“The White House hosted a reception for the much-beloved Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday, and one of Canada’s favorite sons, Ryan Reynolds, totally stole the spotlight,” reports Yahoo! News. “But with the amazing Blake Lively on his arm, no other Canadian had a chance.”
Ryan and Blake, like everybody else, was dressed to the nine, but they also had that Hollywood glam to take their physical presentation to the next level. Yahoo! reports that the Deadpool actor wore “a dark blue suit and white bow tie” and his wife chose a “shimmering silver draped by Ralph & Russo.”
The Age of Adaline actress has been a big support to her husband throughout his Deadpool premiere, so it’s no surprise that she accompanied him to this important event. And she’s not the one to say no to an opportunity to wear a pretty dress!
While the Hollywood couple might have been tempted to pull another one of their public pranks and social media stunts (like the time when Ryan grabbed his wife’s boobs on the red carpet), it looks like they knew to stay on their best behavior that night.
Seeing how Justin Trudeau is known for his coolness, he probably would not have minded a little drama and action during the state dinner.
Blake didn’t let this event go without a little bit of a rebellion. She Instagrammed herself taking off her heels, which could be construed as an inappropriate behavior.
She was probably happy to return to her farmhouse in New York to her baby daughter James, who celebrated her first birthday this past December.
The 39-year-old actor wrote this on Twitter to mark his daughter’s first birthday: “Happy birthday to my baby girl! Sad I lost my virginity. But thankful I have a daughter.”
He also has expressed how he is happy to be a low-key father. When he was asked about keeping the work-life balance as an actor he said, “I think it’s keeping a boundary that there’s this world that is the job and the world that is the home. We don’t live in LA. We live on a farm in New York. And we don’t lead a wild and crazy life. It’s not that hard. It’s not a big deal.”
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively look great in fancy events, but their heart belongs on their farm with their baby girl!
