Is Harry Styles Starring In ‘Scream Queens?’ Conflicting Reports Question One Direction Member’s Role On The Show

Harry Styles: Scream Queens star or not?

While the Daily Mail is confirming that the One Direction band member will star in several episodes of Scream Queens, at least one source has reported the rumors to be absolutely false.

On Sunday, Gossip Cop reported that “rumors about Harry Styles joining the cast of Scream Queens is 100 percent ‘not true.'” Additionally, the celebrity news website went on to write, “One of Gossip Cop’s impeccable sources adds, despite the repetition of the claim, ‘It’s not happening.'”

The rumors that Harry Styles could join the cast of Scream Queens have been floating around for quite some time. Back in December, star Lea Michele told InStyle magazine that the series co-creator, Ryan Murphy, had been talking to a male pop star to join the cast of the show. Though Michele didn’t exactly confirm the Harry Styles rumors, she did hint at the possibility.

“I also heard a rumor that he may, I don’t know if this is true, but [Murphy] said at a press thing recently that he is talking to a male pop star to come for next year,” Michele said back in December. “If it’s Harry Styles, everybody better calm down. I love One Direction. Everybody knows this.”

According to Gossip Cop, the Daily Mail reported that Harry Styles will “make his acting debut in the Fox series Scream Queens when it returns for a second season.” The Daily Mail is said to have reported that Styles will star as a doctor.

The Daily Mail allegedly got the information from the official Scream Queens Twitter account, though Gossip Cop reports that no such claim was confirmed via Twitter. A quick search of the Scream Queens account makes no mention of Harry Styles.

Nevertheless, it appears that Harry Styles’ name was mentioned several times during a Scream Queens panel at PaleyFest on Saturday evening, so perhaps that is where the reports began. During the panel, stars Emma Roberts and Michele were reportedly arguing about whose character would be romantically involved with Harry Styles’ character if he ever were to star on the show.

The cast for the second season of Scream Queens was recently released and includes Michele, Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Glen Powell, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourde, Keke Palmer, and Niecy Nash.

Having a pop star on Scream Queens wouldn’t be unprecedented. During the first season, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande both appeared on the show.

“Nick was so funny on the show this year,” Michele said back in December, during the same interview in which she mentioned Styles. “Obviously, Ariana is hilarious. Ariana is such a great actress. Nick was just so funny with that Joaquin Phoenix beard. He’s walking around saying everyone thought he was Joaquin Phoenix. So funny.”
