New ‘General Hospital’ Promo Welcomes Back Michael Easton, Fans Are Shouting, ‘Hallelujah’

Fans are raising their hands and shouting “Hallelujah” now that Michael Easton is returning to General Hospital and the soap is taking every advantage in promoting it. Fans were quite angry that his character, Dr. Silas Clay, was killed off last year; but, their cries have been heard. He is making his debut as a new doctor on March 21 and there is a brand new clip to get fans even more excited.

Soap Opera Digest has the exclusive first look at the new promo and General Hospital fans are definitely in for a treat. The Vimeo video pretty much features most of Port Charles all decked out in their sexiest clothes with Andy Grammar’s “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)” playing in the background.

There is champagne, balloons, confetti, and lots of gold. It even features many favorite couples such as Sonny and Carly, Jason and Sam, Dante and Lulu, and Julian and Alexis. The 30 second video ends with Michael Easton looking as hot as ever with everyone welcoming him back to General Hospital.

Easton will not be playing Silas Clay this time around. Although many people do come back from the dead on this ABC soap, this time he will be playing a totally different character. The one thing that they will have in common is that they are both doctors. Other than that, things will be different for this new doctor.

The official announcement came just about a month ago that Michael Easton was returning to General Hospital in the form of another Vimeo video put out by the show’s executive producer Frank Valentini. He was also featured in the cute clip “accidentally” running into the actor in the cereal aisle of a grocery store. As they were chatting, Valentini casually asked him if he would like to come back to GH and Easton accepted.

This has made fans of General Hospital very happy as they anxiously wait for him to make his debut. You could say that they were “waiting for this moment” for months. When Silas Clay was killed by Madeline, viewers were not happy and they did not hold back about sharing their feelings to anyone who would listen. As it turns out, they did listen and decided to hire him back.

Fans will get to know his new character and will eventually find out what his back story is and if he has a connection with anyone in Port Charles. Celebrity Dirty Laundry has posted that Michael Easton is set to play the role of Dr. Marcus Byrne, who may or may not come to General Hospital to save Tracy Quartermaine’s life. That is certainly a possibility. He may just tag team with the other fairly new doc, Griffin Munro. This doctor seems to have a connection to Anna Devane. So, will that be the case for Easton’s character as well?

There have been all sorts of rumors floating around on who he could possibly be related to and if he has an agenda in Port Charles. He has even been rumored to be somehow related to the Cassadines and could play into the reading of Helena’s will that is coming up this week. However, that remains to be seen.

In addition to playing the role of Silas Clay, the former One Life To Live actor has also played John McBain for a short time on General Hospital, as well as vampire Caleb Morley. His face is quite familiar to soap fans. As long as Michael Easton is back on screen, they don’t seem to care who his character will be. They are just excited to have him back.
