Secret Service Form Human Shield Around Donald Trump As Candidate Is Rushed On Stage At Ohio Rally [Video]

Donald Trump had quite the scare at a campaign event in Ohio this afternoon. The GOP presidential frontrunner was giving a speech when a person from the crowd began rushing the stage, breaking through security and throwing an unknown object at Trump. Secret Service agents immediately jumped onto the stage and formed a human shield around Trump as other agents rushed after the suspect in the crowd.

ABC News reports that a frightening scene unfolded at a Donald Trump rally this morning just a day after protests broke out at a planned University of Illinois campaign event in Chicago. The scene at the Chicago event got so out of hand that Trump was forced to cancel the event as protesters cheered in victory. The event turned violent as fist fights broke out at the planned rally between Trump supporters and protesters. Despite the cancelled event in Chicago, Trump continued on the campaign trail to Dayton, Ohio. However, the situation does not seem to be getting any better for Trump. In fact, this time the violence was pointed at Trump himself.

The businessman and presidential hopeful was giving a speech in which he called the Chicago protests a “planned attack” by “professional wiseguys” when a person from the crowd broke through security barriers and rushed the stage. People in the crowd can be heard screaming and Trump quickly turns around as the person rushes him from behind. The suspect then threw an undisclosed item at the GOP presidential hopeful as Secret Service agents and Trump’s personal bodyguard quickly jumped to Trump’s aide

They formed a human shield around Trump, encircling him as they looked off into the crowd. Other agents can be seen exiting in the direction of the suspect. You can watch the full video of the Ohio Trump rally incident below.

As can be seen from the video, Trump’s personal bodyguard, who has been with him for years, was the first to jump onto the stage. The Secret Service agents were right behind Trump’s bodyguard, quickly jumping into action at the first sign of trouble for the GOP presidential hopeful. Trump looked shocked and possibly prepared to fight as he quickly turned to see the person rushing the stage. After the scene unfolded and the suspect was detained, Trump continued his speech to the Dayton, Ohio, crowd.

Upon returning to the stage, Trump simply shakes his head and looks off in the direction of the individual being removed from the rally. Once the suspect has been removed and the Secret Service give Trump a nod to continue, he gives the crowd a thumbs up and thanks them for the warning.

“Thank you for the warning. I was ready for ’em, but it’s much better if the cops do it, don’t we agree?”

Though the name of the individual responsible for the attempted attack on Trump has not been released, photos of police removing a man from the Ohio event have surfaced on Twitter.

A spokeswoman for Trump has confirmed that a man was removed from the event after attempting to “breach the secure buffer.”

“A man attempted to breach the secure buffer and was removed rapidly and professionally.”

Despite the scare in Ohio, Trump continued to give his full speech to his Dayton supporters as the Secret Service stood guard nearby. In his speech, Trump noted that the violent protests in Chicago yesterday were the work of “professionals” who had “planned” the “attack.” He went so far as to say that the ones responsible for the violence are “Communist” Bernie Sanders supporters.

“They wan’t me to stand up today and tell my people to be nice, my people are nice! They were taunted, they were harassed. A lot of those represented Bernie, our Communist friend. Not too many Hillary – no fervor.”
