WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon Using Shane McMahon Against Triple H, Stephanie McMahon

WWE rumors have been swirling around Shane McMahon. As soon as he made his shocking return to professional wrestling, questions have been floating around about his intentions. For years, fans had hoped that Shane would be the one to take over for Vince McMahon some day. His return has renewed that faith. According to Wrestling Inc, Vince might have lured Shane back to World Wrestling Entertainment as leverage against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Being the chief executive officer of World Wrestling Entertainment is a job that many people would love to hold. Aside from being in control of a billion dollar company, you’re also in charge of an entity that is known worldwide. Regardless of how some people feel about professional wrestling, WWE is still one of the top brands globally. That’s why it comes as no surprise that so many people want to take over the reigns from Vince McMahon.

Growing up, Shane McMahon dreamed about taking over for his father. He knew that some day Vince McMahon will finally step down from the WWE throne and hand it off to someone. Shane has been very passionate about professional wrestling from an early age. He used to set up the ring for World Wrestling Entertainment as a teenager. He’s worked as a referee and as a performer before moving his way up to being a vice president for the corporation.

The problem for Shane McMahon is that his desire was matched by his younger sister, Stephanie McMahon. She wanted to take over WWE just as much as Shane did. The two of them managed to work in relative harmony, but a lot of that was because Vince McMahon had them operating in different departments. That decision enabled them to both help out the business without crossing paths too frequently.

Stephanie McMahon slowly began to take over the creative department. She worked closely with the writers to help the wrestlers develop their characters. Stephanie also came up with a lot of the stories that WWE were producing for television. Since the creative department is the division of the company that Vince McMahon is most passionate about, Stephanie had the opportunity to work very closely with her father through the years.

Shane McMahon went a different route. While he occasionally interacted with the creative department when he was utilized as an on-screen and in-ring performer, Shane focused more on building the brand globally and taking WWE to the next level with technology. Digital media and international broadcasting were his passion. Shane did well enough with that job that it eventually led to him leaving to become the CEO of China Broadband, Inc, and YOU On Demand.

During the time that Shane McMahon spent away from WWE, Stephanie McMahon and her husband, Triple H, grew to power backstage. Many had pegged Stephanie as the heir apparent to Vince McMahon. Triple H started claiming some of the throne because he won over fans with his vision for NXT. A lot of fans started demanding that HHH take over for Vince as soon as possible, which is something that might not sit well with the CEO.

In many corporations, people jockey for position and power. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that something like that would happen in WWE. There’s a lot of money and power at stake. Vince McMahon wants to know that the company that he made a global powerhouse be in good hands when he decides to step away. If it means seeing if Shane McMahon or Stephanie McMahon are willing to fight for it, then he’s going to let it happen.
