Ryan Gosling Makes Eva Mendes’ Birthday Special By Rescuing Puppy

Ryan Gosling made Eva Mendes’ birthday special by rescuing a puppy. Turns out, he is the perfect Hollywood hero that everyone purports him to be. Way to live up to your own stereotype, Ryan Gosling!

The Big Short actor treated Eva Mendes to a nice Palm Spring holiday for her 42nd birthday. Knowing how private the couple is, he wanted it to be a low-key affair with very little media attention, but it looks like being a good guy means that you will always get thrown into the spotlight.

“The actor made Us swoon (as usual) while saving a puppy this past weekend in Palm Springs, California, where he and Eva Mendes celebrated her birthday,” reports Us Weekly. “The Big Short actor, 35, was photographed pulling over on the side of a highway after he spotted a four-legged cutie in the middle of a busy road. Gosling quickly got out of his car and dashed over to rescue the pooch — scooping it up from harm’s way and returning the little guy (or lady!) to its owner.”

Sounds like his need to save the cute canine from traffic was much bigger than his need to keep the birthday weekend paparazzi-free.

The last time that the couple appeared together in public was during the premiere of The Place Beyond The Pines. Check out their red carpet picture below.

Thankfully for Ryan Gosling, the rest of the weekend was relatively free from all the snooping from the outside world. To repel the nosy reporters, he rented a house owned by Frank Sinatra, which had “4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and a piano shaped swimming pool,” according to Desert Sun.

The rental description of the house also says that “one of the house’s sinks still has a chip on it that was rumored to have been created when Sinatra slammed a champagne bottle during an argument with Ava Garner.”

There is nothing like staying at a place with passionate history behind to refuel the romance!

Ryan and Eva had to take their romantic affair a bit slowly when they had their first baby girl, Esmeralda, in the fall of 2014. Her pregnancy was under wraps for the big portion of the nine months — and she even managed to keep her baby bump out of paparazzi’s camera lenses.

But the couple has succeeded in keeping their baby girl out of the public’s prying eyes. They have not been caught in public with their darling, not even once.

So planning this birthday escape to Palm Springs was an easy one to pull off for Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, already very experienced in the art of avoiding media attention.

But the paparazzi will always be able to get the snoop on the event, even though the report may not be immediate. The details of the birthday weekend are that “the family also ordered take-out from Rick’s Desert Grill at 1596 N. Palm Canyon Dr. which specializes in Cuban and American food.”

At least Eva Mendes was surrounded by good food on her birthday weekend!

Speaking of privacy, Ryan Gosling maintained his out-of-the-spotlight attitude all throughout the awards season, even though one of his movies, The Big Short, was nominated for many awards, including Academy Awards for Best Picture.

“Gosling showed up on the red carpet, but his beautiful partner was nowhere to be found. The actor (who co-starred in the Best Picture-nominated film The Big Short) was hard to spot on the red carpet, but made his appearance once the show began to present the award for Best Adapted Screenplay,” according to Bustle.

For SAG Awards, he went as far as skipping the red carpet altogether to not attract unwanted attention.

“The 35-year-old actor decided to skip the red carpet, but he looked dashing in his tux while posing for pictures inside the venue. Ryan was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for his work in The Big Short, but the cast lost to Spotlight,” Just Jared reported.
