Tori Spelling On Rebuilding Her Marriage And Bankruptcy Rumors
Tori Spelling has experienced some hardship and difficulties from a relationship and financial perspective. Rumors were recently swirling that bankruptcy was being declared by her and husband Dean McDermott. On top of that, a cheating scandal made headlines because of Dean’s reported infidelity.
Tory seems to be keeping positive and set to work on making things right with her husband. They are taking steps forward to rebuild their relationship and grow stronger together.
The 42-year-old spoke on the issues and her hopeful intentions for herself and Dean to hold their family and marriage together while visiting the Today show. The reality star was there to promote her new show on The Cooking Channel, Tori & Dean’s Spring Picnic. The mother of four and star shared that she and Dean are working hard and that things are much better. They are working through the infidelity and strengthening their bond.
Entertainment Tonight shares the words of Spelling during her visit to the show.
“Things are really great right now, but you know what? We had to deconstruct our relationship, we really did. I feel like we’re kind of turning monogamy on its head. [We’re] flipping it and being like, ‘Through society, we’ve been told what life should be, what marriage should be.’ I believed the same thing growing up. I wanted the fairy tale. I thought it should be that way. And then when it wasn’t, I was like, ‘Well, what do I do? I divorce my husband? I have four kids!'”
After learning of Dean’s infidelity, Tori stated that she still loved her husband and wanted to make their marriage work. The couple documented the aftermath of the infidelity in a docuseries called True Tori back in 2014.
Wrapping up her words about her and Dean, Spelling concluded, “We started at the ground zero and built it back up,”
The two are set to celebrate their 10-year anniversary soon, and although there is likely some planning taking place, Tori wasn’t ready to divulge any details.
“I don’t know yet.”
Spelling then suggested that a picnic in the bedroom may perhaps lead to a fifth baby for the couple.
As for the couple’s reported money woes, Spelling is adamant that this story is completely fabricated and not true at all. The star simply wants that story to disappear. On Thursday, Tori spoke with People on the subject of the apparent unpaid credit card debt that was rumored to be threatening the couple’s financial stability and even causing them to be forced to declare bankruptcy.
“She’s been dogged by rumors that she’s struggling financially, but Tori Spelling spoke out Thursday to deny she and husband Dean McDermott have money problems. The 42-year-old was sued by American Express in January for failing to pay an outstanding credit card balance of $37,981.97, and she says she just wants ‘that story to go away.’ We’re not bankrupt. We’re not struggling. We’re fine!'”
Spelling blames the rumors of her financial difficulties on her recent memoir that shared about how her father Aaron Spelling only left her $800,000 and made it a struggle for her to deal with, seeing as he was worth an estimated $500 million.
“I thought I was being relatable, talking about how celebrities go through financial struggles, too, We’re not perfect. We have made a lot of choices financially with real estate that didn’t work out. That just escalated into this story about financial struggles, bankruptcy. To this day that haunts me.”
