Chumlee From ‘Pawn Stars’: How Much Trouble Is He In With Drugs And Guns?

Chumlee from Pawn Stars is in some serious trouble after being arrested for guns and drugs charges by police, who were investigating a sexual assault. Las Vegas police arrived at Chumlee’s home on Wednesday afternoon with a warrant to get evidence for a sexual assault case and found more than they expected.

According to TMZ, Pawn Star’s Chumlee was taken into custody after the Las Vegas police found marijuana, meth, and at least one weapon in Chumlee’s home. The sexual assault is still under investigation, but Chumlee has officially been charged with drugs and guns violations.

Hollywood Life is reporting that Chumlee is in serious trouble, and things have gone from bad to worse. Hollywood Life spoke exclusively to criminal defense attorney Joel Mann about the charges that Chumlee is facing. Chumlee’s real name is Austin Russell, (but was nicknamed Chumlee as a child after the cartoon character because of his large head) and he is facing nearly 20 charges.

“Chumlee has been charged with 19 charges of drug possession and each charge could earn him 1-4 years if served consecutively.”

The charges could earn Chumlee over 76 years in prison if convicted.

Right now, Chumlee is out on bail and has another hearing scheduled for May.

The Las Vegas Sun has reached out to the Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison about Chumlee’s arrest.

“We don’t have details yet but are here to help Chumlee however we can.”

Officer Larry Hadfield of the Las Vegas Police Department confirms that Chumlee has been charged for the guns and drugs but not with the sexual assault. Although the investigation is still ongoing, there are no details at this time.

According to Us Weekly, Chumlee says he will fight the guns, drugs, and, if necessary, sexual assault charges. All of the charges against Chumlee are felonies. Chumlee’s attorney, David Chesnoff, says that he is “looking forward to the truthful conclusion” in Chumlee’s case.

Chumlee’s employers on Pawn Stars are all standing behind him and say they will support him and the investigation.

The Sydney Morning Herald is saying that Pawn Stars’ Chumlee portrays a lighthearted character, but this situation is painting a very dark picture of him. Before posting bail on the drugs and gun charges, Chumlee was being held in the Clark County Detention Center. Fans who believe Chumlee is the same character he plays on the History Channel top-rated series can’t imagine that he could be involved in such things.

“I don’t see Chumlee doing that,” Damon Leaks told KTNV. “I think that might be somebody out trying to get” his money.

But of all the charges, fans seem mostly surprised by the meth possession. Chumlee’s next hearing in on May 23, and he must stay away from all illegal activity while he is out on bail. There is no word on whether he will return to filming Pawn Stars. Chumlee has a strong social media following, and fans are currently supporting him during this dark time.
