Justin Bieber Chaser Had Previous Restraining Order Filed Over Heidi Klum Punching Incident

Paul Raef, the paparazzo whose alleged actions led to Justin Bieber speeding down an L.A. freeway and receiving an 80 mph speeding ticket has had run-ins with the law in the past. According to recently surfaced information Raef was arrested in 2010 and given a restraining order after he drove down the highway like an idiot and then punched a guy in the face.

Police have charged Raef with 4 criminal charges stemming from his July 6 Justin Bieber chase in which they say he was speeding and weaving through traffic at incredibly dangerous speeds.

The restraining order in 2010 came when Raef was trying to obtain a photograph of Heidi Klum but instead ended up in a violent confrontation with another photographer. Raef blamed the other paparazzi member of blowing their chances at a Heidi Klum photograph which then led to the punch.

The worst part? It was a sucker punch, Raef walked up to the guys window and cut open his mouth after the innocent bystander rolled down his window to talk.

While a temporary restraining order was filed the paparazzi member never followed up and Raef eventually had the case dismissed before sharing his side of the story.

The first case may have been dismissed but it is likely Justin Bieber’s team and police on the scene will use that information to their advantage when claiming Bieber’s ticket was the product of an unhinged photographer.

Paul Raef will return to court on August 9 to face charges. At this time the photographer is not returning calls or making public statements about his 2010 or 2012 charges.
