Bobbi Kristina Brown: Lawyers Push DA To Admit It Wasn’t Murder, Calls Death Accident Or Suicide

With the recent release of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s autopsy results, attorneys for her former boyfriend, Nick Gordon, are pushing the Atlanta district attorney (DA) to admit her death wasn’t the result of murder. Yet, authorities indicate that Gordon will remain under investigation.

Yahoo News reports that Joe Habachy and Jose Baez, Gordon’s defense attorneys, called out for Fulton County DA Paul Howard to publically state that Bobbi Kristina’s death was an accident caused by drugs in her system and being submerged in bathtub water for too long. The attorneys released a statement on Tuesday, stating the right thing to do is to clear Gordon’s name.

“Frankly, the right thing for the District Attorney’s office to do right now is to tell the public the truth… that this was an accident… or even a suicide, but not a murder. And the right thing for everyone to do is let Nick live his life now and let Bobbi Kristina rest in peace.”

Bobbi Kristina was found face-down in a bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia, townhouse on January 31, 2015. She spent nearly six months in a few Atlanta-area hospitals, and finally, a hospice center, before she passed away on July 26, 2015.

A recently disclosed autopsy revealed that Bobbi Kristina had alcohol and several drugs in her system, including benzoylecgonine (the primary metabolite of cocaine), benzodiazepines (anxiety medications), marijuana, and morphine.

Authorities stated that there was no way to determine if Bobbi Kristina’s death was accidental or an intentional act, or if was murder or suicide. Gordon, who has a history of allegations of abuse against Bobbi Kristina, has remained the primary suspect in the incident. He’s currently awaiting a wrongful death lawsuit, in which he’s accused of stealing from Bobbi Kristina’s bank account, and physically and emotionally abusing her.

Gordon, still claiming innocence, stated that not only has “no has suffered more as a result of her death” as he has, but that he also tried in vain to save her life. His defense attorneys call the allegations against Gordon nothing short of slander.

“Nick has been publicly humiliated for more than a year. And throughout that time, the Fulton County District Attorney’s office has tried to make Nick a murderer despite having clear and convincing evidence that Bobbi Kristina’s death was nothing more than a tragic accident, evidence that the District Attorney’s office fought to seal and conceal from the public rather than allowing her fans to know the truth.”

Regardless, Bobby Brown, 46, Bobbi Kristina’s father, released a statement, infuriated that the Fulton County Coroner’s Office released the autopsy details while the investigation is still ongoing.

“For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter’s autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind blowing to me. Please pray for my family.”

Christopher Brown, Bobby Brown’s lawyer, added that the criminal and civil investigation into Bobbi Kristina’s death will continue, despite the unsealed autopsy reports.

“While this action is unsettling, we will continue in our efforts in the civil lawsuit and the criminal investigation.”

Meanwhile, only a day after the autopsy report was unsealed, Bobby Brown canceled a concert in South Carolina, scheduled for Friday. The “Every Little Step” singer recently went through surgery and is taking additional time to recover.

Claire LaBriola, spokesperson for Howard, sent an email in, stating that the DA is not going make a public comment on Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death, despite Gordon’s attorneys pushing for one.
