Sharon Osbourne, Kim Kardashian Have Now Both Shared Naked Selfies

Sharon Osbourne is now the latest celebrity to share a naked selfie on social media, in a statement of solidarity with Kim Kardashian, whose own naked selfie, posted earlier this week, has become the source of heated controversy.

As ET Online reports, the 63-year-old Osbourne, looking toned and slim, posted the naked selfie on Wednesday to both Instagram and Twitter, with the hashtag #liberated. Don’t worry – she censored out the relevant bits.

Osbourne joins Ellen DeGeneres, Miley Cyrus, Pink, and a handful of other celebrities who have joined the conversation about the appropriateness, or lack thereof, about Kim Kardashian’s naked selfie posted earlier this week.

On Monday, Kardashian – never one to shy away from publicity – posted a nude “selfie” on Instagram, hoping to once again “break the internet.”

Kim didn’t break the internet, but she did succeed in generating heated controversy. Almost immediately, celebrities left and right jumped in to add their two cents to the conversation.

Pink, for example, slammed Kardashian for the selfie. In an online screed that happened to coincide with International Women’s Day on Tuesday, the 35-year-old told women everywhere not to rely on their looks.

“Shout to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their ‘magic’ that they were born with, that only they possess. It may not ever bring you as much ‘attention’ or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your t**s and a**es, but women like you don’t need that kind of ‘attention.'”

Pink was joined by Chloe Grace Moretz, Bette Midler, and other women in criticizing Kardashian for using her nude body for publicity.

Other female celebrities, meanwhile, jumped to Kim’s defense, including Abigail Breslin and Miley Cyrus.

And Ellen DeGeneres, being Ellen, mined the whole situation for laughs.

Kim herself, meanwhile, has refused to back down from her haters. In a post on her own blog, Kardashian said she refuses to be shamed for showing off her body and sexuality.

“I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world.”

And now she has Sharon Osbourne on her side, not just in words, but in actions.

Throughout her career, Sharon Osbourne has proved that she is not one to shy away from controversy, or from going to battle if the situation requires it.

Having been married to, and been the manager of, notorious drug addict and general buffoon Ozzy Osbourne for several decades, Sharon has developed a habit of not mincing her words. For example, in 2000, Osbourne famously brought the snark when she announced that she was quitting as manager of Smashing Pumpkins, saying she was doing so for “medical reasons.”

“[Lead singer] Billy Corgan was making me sick!”

And when co-hosts on The Talk Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete were let go from their contracts, Osbourne went on to tell Howard Stern that she had little sympathy for them.

“Some people don’t really know who they are, and you have to know who you are when you’re in something like this.”
