Jennifer Garner Talks Cleaning Bathrooms And ‘Gray Area’ Of Divorce From Affleck
Although Jennifer Garner is nothing but flawless and glamorous for her cover feature in Vanity Fair magazine, the mother of 3 has made it clear that she has not always been the stunner we see gracing red carpets in designer gowns. Garner admits that she, just like many other actors, had to work to get where she is in her career, and in her individual case, that meant cleaning toilets at a theater for a steady bit of cash.
Vanity Fair relays the details Garner expressed about her path to stardom.
“During her cover shoot, Garner told V.F. that she got her start in the acting business cleaning bathrooms at a summer stock theater. ‘It was gnarly,’ she says of the job.”
The talented actress also shared how when she first moved to Los Angeles from Virginia, she brought her small town mentality with her and went about saying hello to everyone she met when out and about, whether she knew them or not. As VF notes, “[Garner] soon learned that things are different in the big city, but has maintained that winsome good cheer through the years.”
Fans and onlookers have also been entirely won over by the strength and calmness that Garner has portrayed since news broke about her separation from actor Ben Affleck, which was quickly followed by news of an alleged affair between Ben and the couple’s former nanny.
Her Vanity Fair interview was Garner’s first opportunity to share her take on all that has transpired over the past six months, so publicly, in her relationship with her husband of nearly 10 years. Rumors continue to swirl that the divorce is off and that the two are set to reconcile, which causes a bit of a gray area. This is easy to consider as a possibility seeing as Jen and Ben have been spotted together with their three children and are apparently still sharing a home. TMZ shares that the two were out and about on Sunday running errands, and Affleck gave Jen the shirt right off his back. The publication therefore suggests that a reconciliation must be in the cards if the two are so easily able to spend time with one another and be so caring for each other.
However, Jen’s recent words about her marriage and her ex indicate that both are set to move on, while remaining amicable for the sake of their kids.
“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
The star went on to say that Ben’s tattoo which he recently got, with a dragon rising from ashes perhaps may be telling of their relationship, but that she refuses to be the ashes in the scenario and will move forward.
