Dolly Parton Confirms Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth’s Relationship Status
Dolly Parton just spilled the beans about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. The legendary country singer revealed that the couple is back on and that she couldn’t be happier.
Cyrus’ godmother, the Dolly Parton, confirmed the news when asked about the couple’s relationship in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Do you like them together?” an ET correspondent asked the country singer.
“Yes, I do,” Parton replied. “I was really happy to hear that they had gotten back together.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth first sparked romance rumors when the two reportedly spent the holidays together in Australia with his family. TMZ then spotted Cyrus driving a U-Haul over the actor’s house in early January. Then there also the engagement rumors when Cyrus was spotted wearing her engagement ring on Instagram and at the John F. Kennedy International airport in late January. Hemsworth reportedly proposed to the pop star with the same ring he gave her back in June 2012.
Now an insider revealed to People magazine that Cyrus wants to change for Hemsworth and plans to make him as happy as possible.
“For the past few weeks, they have lived a very secluded life. When they are not working, they rarely leave home. They often have people over for dinner, and Miley has gone from a wild child to a housewife.”
The insider added that Miley is now “toning things down and acting more normal. She even stopped hanging out with friends that are too wild. She is very focused on making things work with Liam.”
Dolly Parton also showed some pride for her goddaughter, who has quickly gone from a twerking pop star to a Flaming Lips collaborator.
“She’s great, she’s a talent,” Parton said. “She’s deep, she’s smart. She’s sensitive.”
And even Parton has admitted that Cyrus has gone through a lot of changes in her life lately.
“She’s been put through a lot. She’s put herself through a lot,” the blonde bombshell giggled and said.
Earlier this year, a second source told People magazine that Cyrus wants to get married as soon as possible.
“Miley wants to get married. His family was very hesistant about a marriage in the past, but they really got to know Miley better when she spent time in Australia a few weeks ago. Everyone seems excited that they are back together.”
It was previously rumored that Cyrus and Hemsworth were making plans for their wedding and that the singer wanted a psychedelic-themed wedding complete with an aging rock star.
“Miley wants Wayne Coyne to officiate her wedding,” an alleged source told Hollywood Life, adding that Cyrus “wants her wedding to be a like a Flaming Lips concert.”
Meanwhile, Dolly Parton plans to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. The iconic singer revealed in a press conference that wants to renew her wedding vows to husband Carl Thomas Dean. The couple plans to renew their wedding vows in style since Parton didn’t have a “big dress and party” when they secretly wed back in 1966 shortly after she signed with Monument Records.
“We’re just gonna take a bunch of pictures. I might even sell some to the rag mags and make money and give it to the Imagination Library.”
Parton revealed that their wedding anniversary is in May. The country icon is also preparing for her massive 60-date tour throughout America and Canada starting in June. It’s Parton’s biggest tour in over 25 years and will coincide with the release of her new album Pure & Simple with Dolly’s Biggest Hits.
Parton didn’t reveal how she heard the news about Cyrus and Hemsworth, but it’s obvious that she’s close to her goddaughter. The two last performed together on the Hallmark special “Dolly Parton Celebrates 25 Years of Dollywood” back in 2010.
