Loved-Up Taylor Swift Gives Selena Gomez Love Advice

After celebrating her one-year anniversary with boyfriend Calvin Harris last week, Taylor Swift is allegedly dishing out a little love advice to best friend Selena Gomez.

According to an insider who spoke out about Swift’s romance guidance for Gomez to Hollywood Life earlier this week, Taylor has been encouraging Selena to stay positive when it comes to looking for love after her rocky on/off four-year romance with Justin Bieber and is telling her to have “an open mind and heart.”

“[Taylor] just tells Selena to keep believing that her time will come and not to settle,” the source revealed, adding that Gomez is using Swift and Harris’s seemingly picture-perfect romance as a template for her own dating life.

“Selena would give anything to be in a relationship like Taylor and Calvin’s,” the source told the site, citing that the “commitment and respect” Taylor and her man share is a “dream” for Selena Gomez.

“[Selena] has been very supportive of Taylor and Calvin’s relationship and was the first to wish them ‘Happy Anniversary,'” the insider continued, revealing that Swift and Harris’ “relationship gives Selena Gomez hope that she will one day have the same thing, and that one day she will find her soulmate.”

But while Selena is allegedly longing for a relationship like Taylor’s, Hollywood Life’s insider admitted that Taylor never flaunts her love in front of her longtime bestie. Instead, she focuses on her own erratic dating life prior to her year-long relationship in order to encourage Selena to stay open to finding love.

“[Taylor] never brags about her relationship with Calvin. Instead, she reminds Selena about her own heartache and how she overcame her own obstacles and eventually met Calvin,” Hollywood Life’s insider revealed to the site.

Taylor Swift’s alleged dating advice to Selena Gomez comes just days after Swift appeared to suggest that things are getting serious between her and her Scottish DJ beau after the two celebrated their one-year anniversary with a romantic date night and a slew of social media snaps.

Taylor took to Instagram to show off the sweet gift from boyfriend to mark the 12-month milestone, posting a photo of a gold locket Calvin gifted to her on the photo sharing site last week.

Engraved with the date the pair met, March 6, 2015, Swift captioned the photo, which appeared to show herself wearing the locket around her neck, “3.6.15 One year down!” alongside a heart emoji.

Taylor and Calvin also showed off their sweet anniversary celebration on Snapchat, according to Buzzfeed, which included a homemade cake which read “1 year” alongside two hearts in red frosting. Calvin also captioned the ridiculously adorable Snapchat video, “1 year… that was easy.”

The couple’s big anniversary celebrations come as E! News reported that Taylor and Calvin are getting pretty serious with their romance and have even discussed the possibility of getting engaged in the not-too-distant future.

“They are definitely talking about their future together and the possibility of one day getting engaged,” a source close to Swift and Harris told the site of the loved-up pair’s long-term plans last week, adding that their busy schedules have made them realize that they can, in fact, envision a future together.

“Making it work, despite their huge demanding schedules, and her tour, has proved to both of them that this is something that is serious and that could last,” E! News’ source revealed, adding that Taylor and Calvin’s time away has “really cemented their commitment to one another.”
