Gwen Stefani Reacts To Blake Shelton’s ‘Rad’ New Song Ahead Of Her Return To ‘The Voice,’ ‘Misery’ Release

Gwen Stefani is one supportive girlfriend. On March 8, following the release of Blake Shelton’s highly anticipated new single, “Came Here To Forget,” Gwen Stefani re-tweeted a clip to the song to her fans and followers, and shared a sweet message to the country star.

After Shelton revealed his song was the No. 1 country song on iTunes, Gwen Stefani wrote, “Duh!! #sorad #cameheretoforget gx.”

Shelton’s track speaks of two people who are trying to get through breakups, and leaning on each other for support, much like he and Gwen Stefani did after their splits from Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale. However, at this point, Shelton hasn’t officially confirmed who the song is about.

On the heels of Shelton’s new release comes “Misery,” the third single off of Gwen Stefani’s album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like. On March 7, Gwen Stefani re-tweeted a message from a fan, which spoke of his excitement to hear the upcoming single, but just as Shelton’s new release, it’s hard to say what Gwen Stefani’s new song will be in regard to.

During The Voice Season 9, which was filmed at the end of last year, Gwen Stefani and Shelton’s relationship turned romantic, and in November 4, they made their public debut at a Country Music Awards after party in Nashville, Tennessee. However, while the romance certainly added a boost in ratings for the show, Gwen Stefani did not return as a coach for Season 10. Instead, she’s been replaced by Christina Aguilera, but is expected to return to the show later this season as a mentor for Shelton’s team.

After filming on Season 9 came to a close in December, 2015, Shelton spoke often about wanting Gwen Stefani to return to the show, and as Us Weekly revealed, he suggested a fifth coaching position during an interview with Extra TV.

“I don’t want [Gwen Stefani] to not be on the show,” Shelton said at the time. “Why can’t we have a fifth coach?”

“What am I gonna do?” Gwen Stefani asked in response. “I’m gonna put out my record and do some shows.”

Gwen Stefani went on to reveal she would miss her co-stars as they continued with Season 10 with Aguilera.

“It’s the combination, it’s the chemistry. I’m already so devastated that I already have three more outfits… And that I’m not gonna be around these guys. It’s hurting me,” Gwen Stefani explained.

Despite Shelton’s suggestion for a fifth coach, Gwen Stefani was not brought back in her former role, but that was not anything out of the ordinary, as she and Aguilera have been alternating seasons for the past couple of years.

Because of Shelton’s comments about Gwen Stefani returning to the show, many believed he may be on the outs with Aguilera, and feud rumors swirled. In fact, rumors have kept swirling as filming continues, and in one of the most recently reports, shared earlier this month, it was noted that Shelton and Aguilera were allegedly “at each other’s throats.”

Shelton “hates the fact that [Gwen Stefani] is no longer with him this season,” an onset source told Radar Online. “Everyone knows this and he is taking it out on Christina, and they are not getting along at all.”

“It’s his mission to make this as uncomfortable as possible for her so that she will not want to return next season,” added the source.
